Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: Summer Series

Jun 17, 2025

Our Ministry Center is quite the hub of activity — and the best kind of activity in Washington! Every week we have around 130 people come through our doors, many of them young interns serving in the halls of Congress, and we have a great opportunity to lead them to Christ and mature in their faith.

We have many Bible studies in our Summer Series, including the study of Colossians, the study of the Gospel of Mark, reading and discussing the book More Than a Carpenter on the life of Jesus, and mentoring new believers. In fact, there are Bible studies we have put in place or help facilitate every day. That’s how much we believe God’s Word can change lives, and we see it again and again. It’s especially critical to reach the next generation of leaders, and those who are interns in our nation’s capital may, in later years, become members of Congress, judges or Justices in our court system, or even President!

Interns and staffers are getting their questions answered about the Bible, the character of God, and life. Individuals who attend our Bible studies are being saved and are growing in their faith in Christ. They are coming to our other events and fellowship times and are connecting with local churches.

Friends, your financial and prayerful support has saved lives for eternity and helped our young people grow in their Christian faith. Thank you for all you do to support Faith & Liberty’s ministry on Capitol Hill! Now, more than ever, we need you to continue to stand with us through your prayers and generosity. If you haven’t yet given to Faith & Liberty, please consider donating now. We cannot do this vitally important work without faithful friends like you! Thank you!

MINISTRY RECAP
  • Last Wednesday we enjoyed what has become a tradition in our nation’s capital, the Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party! We enjoyed scoops of delicious ice cream flavors and, more importantly, fellowship with many members of Congress and congressional staffers on the National Mall outside the U.S. Capitol Building.

  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the Hill Ministries luncheon last Thursday. This is a time where we gather to pray for other ministries serving on Capitol Hill and share our upcoming events.

  • Last Saturday, Washington, D.C., and America celebrated Flag Day and held a military parade celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. It was also President Trump’s birthday. We are thankful for good security for this patriotic event and appreciate your prayers. America needs prayer in the wake of ongoing protests, and we know you will join Faith & Liberty as we pray for both peace and revival!

  • On a lighter note, we continue to meet with congressional interns on Capitol Hill, welcoming them to Washington, D.C., praying with them, and assisting them with many needs. We also direct them to local churches, share our schedule of events, and invite them to our Bible studies.

  • Faith & Liberty’s Summer Bible Study Series continues with many interns and staffers being discipled in God’s Word and enjoying fellowship, which is especially needed in Washington, D.C.

COMING SOON

  • During this Life Month, Faith & Liberty staff continues to pray and plan in many pro-life events and meetings. As always, we continue to defend and protect the lives of the unborn.
