Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Jun 2, 2026
It’s an exciting time for Faith & Liberty as we say goodbye to the current congressional interns and prepare for the summer interns who will arrive soon. The offices of our members of Congress will be buzzing with activity as will our Ministry Center — and we look forward to it!
We will have numerous visits with students coming in as congressional interns. We will share about the work of Faith & Liberty and the many ways they can engage with us at our Ministry Center and on the Hill. Students will be in groups of about 20-25 each, they will visit the U.S. Supreme Court, participate with our team on prayer walks on Capitol Hill, and have the opportunity to meet the House and Senate chaplains and congressional leaders.
Why is it so important that we engage with these young people coming into the capital? First, many young people have not been raised in the Christian faith and are not involved in churches today, so as your missionaries to Capitol Hill, we have an amazing opportunity to reach these bright minds with the life-changing gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Second, for those who are believers, many have not been discipled in their faith or they do not have real depth in the study of the Scriptures. But, as our chairman, Mat Staver, has pointed out, “they have a real desire to study and learn.” Mat also noted that when Faith & Liberty engages these young people, it’s not just for “a social gathering, but real issues” are addressed, and we certainly know that this generation is encountering some substantial difficult issues.
Along with these connections, we do have several events and activities planned for the interns. Please see more about those activities below so you can specifically pray for our involvement with the interns coming to Capitol Hill. They are, after all, the future leaders of America, and because of you, we are here to help them encounter Christ and grow in their faith. Thank you for your prayerful and generous support!

Faith & Liberty participated in the Freedom 250 coalition call last Wednesday to stay up to date on the many activities tied to America’s 250th anniversary.
Patty Bills was part of the White House Faith Office National Call, along with Paula White-Cain, Jenny Korn, and Speaker Mike Johnson. We discussed the formal prayer time around the America 250 rededication.
You are invited to an America 250 intercessory prayer time every Saturday at our Ministry Center. Would you like to pray for our nation with others who believe in the power of prayer? If so, please contact Patty Bills at 202-737-1776 for more information and join us! This event is RSVP only.
Faith & Liberty is participating in Pray USA 250, with is composed of five events of intercessory prayer to strengthen the spiritual pillars of our nation as it turns 250.

Patty Bills and Lindsey Cruz met with Pastor John Yoder and Pastor Blossom Brackman of Eagles of Fire about hosting their future prayer meetings at the Ministry Center.
Patty and Lindsey also met with Brian Ottinger of Love Life, a pro-life ministry, to discuss upcoming opportunities for ministry outreach.
Our Bible studies at the Ministry Center and in other locations continue strong. We are thankful for the commitment of interns and others who attend and prioritize the Word of God and fellowship with other believers! COMING SOON
Many congressional interns are in Washington for the summer, so Faith & Liberty is adding a new women’s Bible study to accommodate them. The study will start in mid-June in the Ministry Center with the focus on the Book of Esther.
In mid-July, we are hosting two screenings of By Dawn’s Early Light. The documentary addresses the findings of the federal Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias. One of the screenings will be for students and the other for the public.
Faith & Liberty is co-hosting the first Gen Z Rooftop Prayer Encounter in July. Twenty interns are coming to Washington, D.C., and will participate in this event. They will also visit congressional offices and meet key leaders.
Mat Staver, chairman of Faith & Liberty, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, and founder of Covenant Journey, will be the fifth and final speaker in the “Why Israel Lunch and Learn Series.” Mat will speak on “Why Israel’s History Matters.”
Chaplain Margaret Kibben started at time for prayer and refreshments in the Congressional Faith Office. This will give staff the opportunity to stop by the office for prayer and fellowship.
Faith & Liberty is participating in monthly prayer webinars in support of the White House America Prays Initiative. During these webinars, we agree in prayer for our country, government, and policy makers and the many decisions our leaders must make.
