Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: Honoring the Fallen

May 26, 2026

No doubt many of you marked Memorial Day yesterday by remembering and honoring America’s military fallen. Their sacrifice somehow seems more poignant this year as we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday. There were many commemorative events yesterday in our nation’s capital, including the Freedom 250 National Memorial Day Parade and remarks by President Trump and wreath laying at Arlington National Cemetery.

Faith & Liberty is committed to ministering on Capitol Hill through prayer and worship, Bible studies and fellowship, pastoral care and discipleship. Through your active support, Faith & Liberty is standing for faith, freedom, and the family in this 250th year of America’s founding. Would you prayerfully consider giving today to support this vital ministry? We appreciate your prayers and gifts to help the Faith & Liberty team thrive as your missionaries in our nation's capital.

While this week will be quieter in Washington with the House and Senate out of session, Faith & Liberty will be using this time to plan our outreach events and activities — which, of course, never stop and which we love doing! We also anticipate connecting with the congressional office interns who will be coming soon.

We appreciate your prayers as we plan. As the Scripture says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps” (Prov. 16:9). Only the Lord can open doors as we seek to effectively minister to our nation’s leaders and to all who work on Capitol Hill.

Please catch up with our events of the past week below — and thank you for regularly remembering your missionary team in our nation’s capital!

Your missionaries in Washington, D.C.,

Faith & Liberty team

While many of you are the bedrock of Faith & Liberty because of your faithful prayers and financial support, others may wish to give today for the first time or give a gift beyond your regular donations. Thank you for considering the impactful ministry of Faith & Liberty in our nation’s capital. Please also ask the Lord if He would have you become one of our vitally important monthly contributors. Sign up for monthly giving on our website using the SUPPORT YOUR MISSIONARIES button below and select the option, “I would like to make this a recurring donation.” If you prefer to call, please ask for Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776, and she will gladly assist you. You truly are an important part of our ministry, and we thank you!

MINISTRY RECAP
  • Faith & Liberty participated in the inaugural Washington, D.C. Prayer Breakfast last Thursday. The gathering brought together political, business, and civic leaders as Kingdom Pioneers for Christ. We lifted high the Lord’s name in worship and collectively prayed for the city.

  • E.J. Kimball, director of Christian Engagement and senior advisor for the Combat Antisemitism Movement, was this month's speaker in the “Why Israel Lunch and Learn Series.” He addressed the important topic of “Why Israel Is Under Attack from the Left.” Faith & Liberty is co-hosting this special series with guest speakers at the Ministry Center.

  • On Memorial Day evening, we attended the premiere of a documentary, By Dawn’s Early Light, at the Trump Kennedy Center. The documentary addressed the findings of the federal Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias. There was also a special worship session before the screening.

  • Our Bible studies at the Ministry Center and in other locations continue strong. We pray that each one who attends takes the Word of God into their daily life and work in D.C.
  • You are invited to an America 250 intercessory prayer time every Saturday at our Ministry Center. Would you like to pray for our nation with others who believe in the power of prayer? If so, please contact Patty Bills at 202-737-1776 for more information and join us!
