Last Tuesday, May 5, our team along with 35 other key leaders gathered for Rooftop Prayer over our nation’s capital! As we looked over the buildings on Capitol Hill, we remembered our government leaders and the churches seeking to multiply disciples for Christ inside Washington’s Beltway and the surrounding area. We started on the House Speaker’s balcony, then moved to the Capitol Room for prayer and reflection.

Faith & Liberty is committed to ministering on Capitol Hill through prayer and worship, Bible studies and fellowship, pastoral care and discipleship. As you will see below, we also participated last week in other prayer-focused events, one related to supporting Israel and another on the D.C. National Day of Prayer. These gatherings, where we often join other ministries to intercede for our country and leadership, encourage and inspire us to remember that our God is sovereign and we are utterly dependent on Him!

MINISTRY RECAP
  • On May 4, we attended the 4th Annual Capitol Hill Reception: Caucus of Conservative Organizations at the Cannon House Office Building. This was a special reception for U.S. House and Senate congressional staffers and allies to network and meet new friends on the Hill.

  • Sunrise Prayer & DC National Day of Prayer: Several key leaders from other ministries stopped by the Ministry Center last Thursday, May 7, to pray for our nation and other significant needs. All the ministries on Capitol Hill are joining together to call on God to heal our nation.

  • Also, Lindsey Cruz attended the Capitol City National Day of Prayer. The theme this year was “Glorify God, Tend the Fire.”

  • On Friday, May 8, we attended a celebration of Israel's 78th Independence Day and 21st Annual Day of Prayer. There were visits with legislators thanking them for their support of Israel and discussing the rise of antisemitism in our nation.

  • The Aglow International team joined us at the Ministry Center for prayer over our ministry. We appreciate them coming faithfully and believing in the power of prayer!

  • Our Bible studies in the Ministry Center and in other locations continue strong. We are thankful for those on Capitol Hill who make understanding God’s Word a priority in their busy schedules.

COMING SOON 

  • This Wednesday, May 13, we will attend the She Leads D.C. — The Crystal Tea where our friends will honor several distinguished ladies and leaders in Congress, and will recognize Peggy Nienaber’s faithful work with an honorarium award. An invitation to this special afternoon tea has been extended to First Lady Melania Trump.

  • This Saturday, May 16, prior to the Rededicate 250 gathering on the National Mall, we will participate in an evening of prayer and worship.

  • We will be co-hosting a daylong fellowship and prayer gathering Sunday, May 17, at the Ministry Center with the Judicial Action Group as part of the Rededicate America to God initiative.

  • This Friday, May 15, we are blessed to have a group of intercessors from Liberty Counsel ministries coming to pray for the Faith & Liberty team and ministry on Capitol Hill.

  • Faith & Liberty is participating in monthly prayer webinars in support of the White House America Prays Initiative. During these webinars, we agree in prayer for our country, government, and policy makers and the many decisions our leaders must make.

  • E.J. Kimball, director of Christian Engagement and senior advisor for the Combat Antisemitism Movement, will be this month's speaker in the “Why Israel Lunch and Learn Series.” He will speak on “Why Israel Is Under Attack from the Left.” Faith & Liberty is co-hosting this special series with guest speakers at the Ministry Center.

  • We will be taking part in the D.C. Prayer Breakfast on May 21. The focus is on praying that God’s will is done in Washington, D.C.
