Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: Hearing His Voice

Apr 28, 2026

What a delight it was for Faith & Liberty to participate in the America Reads the Bible campaign last week here in our nation’s capital!

Faith & Liberty's senior pastor, Rev. Greg Cox, reflected on this national observance: "It was an amazing collection of 500 Christian leaders from around the country. I considered it an honor to be able to participate and share the Word of God with our nation during this critical season in our history. Part of what I read was 1 Chronicles 14, which makes it abundantly clear that the success of any nation depends upon that nation’s ability to both hear and obey the voice of the Lord.”

Would you show your support for the many ways Faith & Liberty actively supports from Capitol Hill all that God is doing in our nation? We appreciate your faithful prayers and financial gifts that help Faith & Liberty thrive as we serve as your missionaries in our nation's capital.

Although the event itself has concluded, we pray for ongoing impact from this as well as our recent Congressional Bible Reading. As Rev. Cox will attest, public Bible reading is not performance but is a reminder of the sovereignty of God in the life of our nation. We have heard His voice as a nation; now we must be careful to obey.

Below, we also share about a significant Bible distribution effort to members of Congress, and we pray the seeds of the Word of God will be sewn into the hearts of our leaders and everyone who works on Capitol Hill.

Special Note: This is also a special week of remembrance for us as we honor our friend and colleague, Peggy Nienaber. As a friend and supporter of Faith & Liberty, we invite you to attend Peggy’s Celebration of Life this Thursday, April 30, or you can watch the livestream of the memorial service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More details are available on our Facebook page. Please pray for us — and especially for her family — as we all prepare to honor Peggy, who is dearly missed in this life but is now with the Savior she loved.

Thank you for your thoughtful prayers and kind support!

  • We are praying for Hope to the Hill’s distribution of personalized Bibles to all the congressional members on Capitol Hill. What a grand effort! Hope to the Hill had each member’s name imprinted on the cover of their Bible, so personalized Bibles will soon be in the hands of every member of Congress. They met at our Ministry Center and prayed over this major distribution effort and that the Word of God would have an impact on the hearts of our leaders.
