Capitol Hill is abuzz with anticipation of tonight’s “State of the Union” address, which President Trump will present at 9 p.m. ET in the House chamber. This is his first State of the Union in his second term in office.
As with all such addresses, his speech will be wide-ranging, touching on issues foreign and domestic that affect the American people. The president is expected to cover trade and the economy, national security, immigration and deportations, Iran and the possibility of military strikes — and much more.
We are praying and ask you to agree with us for wisdom for the president and our leaders and for safety and security on Capitol Hill. The fences are up!
Would you show your support for the many ways Faith & Liberty actively supports from Capitol Hill all that God is doing in our nation? We appreciate your faithful prayers and financial gifts that help Faith & Liberty thrive as we serve as your missionaries in our nation's capital.
With the nation clearly divided and with midterm elections just around the corner, uniting the American people is critical. Many of us know this famous phrase from Abraham Lincoln’s 1858 speech: “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” We see the same principle in Scripture. Psalm 133:1 tells us: “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”
Our country is greatly divided, and some are truly divisive. We know that we will not have full unity except under the mantle of our Lord Jesus Christ, but for now, we pray for wisdom, humility, respect — and yes, unity, insofar as it is possible in this 250th year of our nation’s birth.
Thank you for praying with us from Capitol Hill and from sea to shining sea!
