Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: Life Week Begins!

Jan 20, 2026

Life Week is finally here! It’s a cold one as usual in the dead of winter, but it’s worth the chill to make a clear stand for the unborn. We expect Friday's March for Life — with the theme “Life Is a Gift” — to bring tens of thousands of people to our nation’s capital, but we have some significant events beforehand as well.

This week, we have a few key life events. Thursday at noon, Faith & Liberty will host America 250 Remembers — Remembering Victims of Roe. We will be in prayer as we lay 3,000 red, white, and blue carnations in memory of babies lost to abortion daily. Key leaders and speakers also will join us in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Would you show your support as we start 2026 for the many ways Faith & Liberty supports life, the family, and religious freedom on Capitol Hill? We appreciate your faithful prayers and financial gifts that help Faith & Liberty thrive as we serve as your missionaries in our nation's capital.

Along with Scripture reading, various speakers will highlight the history of the pro-life movement leading up to the overturn of Roe v. Wade in June 2022. We will also reflect on the Founders’ view of life when they came to this country 250 years ago.

On Wednesday afternoon, Faith & Liberty will co-host a showing of a pro-life documentary, Pardon Me: The Bevelyn B. Williams Story, tomorrow in the U.S. Capitol. Faith & Liberty will co-host this event along with well-known pro-life leaders Dr. Alveda King and Day Gardner.

On Friday, we will be represented in the March for Life, then our team will host our annual Life Reception at our Ministry Center. Anyone who wants to attend after the March is welcome to stop by to warm up with some refreshments and fellowship. Attendees must RSVP. Call 202-737-1776 and ask for Patty Bills.

This is one of Faith & Liberty’s biggest weeks of the year, and there are many moving parts. So, we thank you in advance for your prayers that all traveling and plans and people that need to come together do so to make this week run smoothly — to honor life and our Creator!
