Bit by bit, we’ve been sharing Faith & Liberty’s involvement in last month’s She Leads America (SLA) Summit — and there’s a lot to unpack! Our ministry co-hosted several events, including the Women on the Hill Appreciation Breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club and a progressive breakfast at the Faith & Liberty Ministry Center.

The 5th Annual She Leads America Gala, which was part of the Summit, was held at the Museum of the Bible. Nearly 250 guests were present as the 2025 Christian Women of Distinction were honored alongside recipients of the Distinguished Service and Mordecai Men Awards.

Faith & Liberty’s Director of Strategic Partnerships Patty Bills was one of the recipients of a 2025 Distinguished Service Award. Patty's award was entered into the Congressional Record for her dedication and service for helping to share the gospel on Capitol Hill.

“I was very surprised and blessed to be recognized for the service work I have been doing for many years through the Ministry Center and with SLA,” Patty says. “I was honored to receive this Distinguished Service Award and medal. All the glory goes to God for giving me the endurance and love to do so. I was very humbled by this gift of appreciation.”

MINISTRY RECAP

  • As the government is still shut down, Peggy met with several concerned congressional staffers for prayer. Staffers are concerned as they have no paychecks coming in and the possibility of not getting paid despite continuing to show up for work.

  • Peggy Nienaber participated in a Women's Retreat with young women who work on Capitol Hill. There were wonderful times of spiritual refreshing as we gathered to exalt the name of the Lord!

  • The Faith & Liberty team met last week to discuss our 2026 ministry events. Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary will be a wonderful part of our events next year.

  • Peggy Nienaber will participate in the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference Zoom meeting with Rev. Samuel Rodriguez and Marc Siegel, M.D. The topic of our conversation will be: The Miracles Among Us: How God’s Grace Plays a Role in Healing.
  • Faith & Liberty will join other nonprofit organizations on Capitol Hill for discussion and prayer during the shutdown.
  • Thursday, Dec. 4, is just one month away! It is the date of our Live Nativity, and we are in planning mode. Patty has been exceptionally busy securing the permits for our Live Nativity presentation of the gospel on Capitol Hill. We are making progress, and your prayers are appreciated for all permits to be granted in good time!
