Faith & Liberty had a significant role in planning the She Leads America Summit earlier this month. We were privileged to host the “Defending the Dignity of Women” panel during the She Leads America Windsor Luncheon. Along with Faith & Liberty’s Senior Vice President Peggy Nienaber, who served as moderator, the panel featured these outstanding Christian women:

• Leigh-Allyn Baker, actress and spokeswoman for Turning Point
• Kayleigh Bush, Cancelled Crown Miss North Florida 2025
• Macy Petty, former NCAA volleyball player
• Maggie McKneely, Concerned Woman for America

We also welcomed distinguished guests from the United Kingdom as we addressed volatile issues that affect both countries and much of the world. Our guests from the U.K. were former Member of Parliament Caroline Ansell; former High Sheriff of West Sussex Davina Irwin-Clark; entrepreneur Bolaji Sofoluwe, MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire); and several others who shared their concerns regarding the violation of women’s rights in their country.

In society today, men are portraying themselves as women, occupying women’s restrooms, entering women’s pageants, and coming in drag to read at public storybook hours. We also discussed the major issue of men playing in women’s sports and the losses and injuries women athletes experience as a result. One appropriate verse that was noted was Deuteronomy 22:5: “A woman shall not wear a man’s apparel, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does such things is abhorrent to the LORD your God.”

In another part of the program, Peggy introduced former Miss North Florida Kayleigh Bush. Kayleigh willingly gave up her crown, “choosing truth over her tiara,” as Peggy said, when the Miss America Organization asked her to sign a contract related to men entering Miss America pageants. As a result, Kayleigh was not permitted to enjoy many of the benefits that come with her title.

When Kayleigh entered the pageant, she sought to “inspire a love of God and country in my generation” through one of her projects.

“If the Lord gave me the crown, I would use it for His glory,” she said in her She Leads America speech. But she would not compromise her faith.

“If you think it’s expensive to stand for what is right, just wait until you see the price of being silent,” she said.

Peggy pointed to 1 Timothy 4:12 in her introduction: “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

We are thankful for young women like Kayleigh Bush who will not compromise her faith or the truth even when it hurts.

Thank you, too, to our financial and prayer supporters who carried us through a rather intense time of preparing for and bringing to fruition our parts of the She Leads America Summit. We are thankful God was glorified through this exceptional event!
