Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Covering the Capital: A Harvest of Souls

Sep 16, 2025

This past Wednesday, our nation was shocked by the sudden loss of a young conservative Christian leader with a bright future ahead.

Gunned down in his prime, Charlie Kirk was a 31-year-old husband and father of two young children. Charlie was bold and bright, despite choosing to drop out of college. Instead of sitting in a college classroom, he educated himself. How ironic that his life was taken on a university campus while responding to a student’s question!

In his life as in his death, some who opposed him accused him of hate speech. Yet he regularly visited college campuses and invited students who disagreed with him to a microphone to have a conversation. Then he listened attentively. He considered carefully. He responded thoughtfully.

As you know, we cannot speak up for free speech or religious freedom in this country, connect with members of Congress — or engage in any other ministry activity — without your support! Please prayerfully consider giving to Faith & Liberty for the first time or continuing to give to help us fulfill our unique and vital mission in the nation’s capital.

Amid one of Charlie’s thoughtful responses, a young man wielding a bolt-action rifle cut off his ability to speak truth on the campus or before the microphone on his daily podcast. Martyred for his conviction, Charlie would never speak again. Yet he does and he is. His life is being celebrated and commemorated around the world with thousands joining together to honor him. NFL teams paid tribute. Even the Polish parliament held a moment of silence. New chapters of his organization, Turning Point USA, are rapidly being formed.

When the prophetic voice of singer Keith Green was stilled in a plane crash, the verse that kept coming up was John 12:24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Last week, Charlie’s prophetic voice to a rising generation was stilled by an assassin’s bullet. All it took was one shot to the throat, but, as his wife, Erika, assured America on national TV, Charlie Kirk’s name and his movement will never die. His death will increase the reach of his organization and yield a harvest of souls.

At Faith & Liberty, we stand with Charlie because Charlie stood with America — and more importantly with the Savior He loved. Charlie's aim to “make heaven crowded” revealed his burden for those who are spiritually lost — a burden we share.

This past week, we heard of someone who worked on Capitol Hill who, after years, committed her life to Christ. Praise the Lord! We must never give up on anyone! Thank you for standing with Faith & Liberty so we can be present on Capitol Hill and simply be here when someone has questions about life and faith. Like Charlie, we want to listen attentively, consider carefully, and respond thoughtfully — for a harvest of souls!
