We celebrated the 74th Annual National Day of Prayer, which was May 1, with many activities during the week.

The Faith & Liberty team co-hosted Rooftop Prayer Encounter, as faith-based leaders gathered on a rooftop on Capitol Hill to intercede on behalf of our nation as well as our national leaders. This impactful event reflects on Peter’s encounter with Cornelius recorded in the book of Acts. While on the rooftop in prayer, God spoke to Peter with a remarkable vision that enabled him to see beyond his own prejudices and be open to visiting the house of a Gentile. The result was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the household of Cornelius and the spreading of the Gospel to the Gentiles.

Our team also participated in the Prepare in Prayer kickoff event for the National Day of Prayer. It was a powerful evening of praise and prayer. Renowned recording artists Casting Crowns led worship. Faith leaders led those in attendance in prayer and intercession. Tim Tebow then delivered an inspiring message calling the crowd to national engagement with faith and confidence in God’s grace and power.

• We hosted a 24-hour Prayer Time last week at the Faith & Liberty Ministry Center. The focus was our work in D.C., interns working on Capitol Hill, our congressional members, and the administration.

• The Faith & Liberty staff attended an Evening Prayer Service on the National Day of Prayer. The evening was filled with prayer and praise led by Casting Crowns. A small group of personally invited local Christian leaders came together for this time of fellowship.

• The Faith & Liberty team co-hosted the annual Rooftop Prayer Encounter event that took place on the top of a local building facing the U.S. Capitol and overseeing the nation’s capital. We thank the Lord for the space to pray and reflect. Our prayers were focused on the nation’s capital with the theme “Reflection, Redemption and Revival.”

• Faith & Liberty staff visited congressional offices to talk about the importance of combatting antisemitism, which, sadly, has been rising across the country.

• This past Monday we had a lunch cookout at our Ministry Center for the attendees of the Monday Bible Study. It’s always a joy to fellowship with them, hear the Word of God, and pray for them!

• The Aglow International women will be dropping by this week to pray for our ministry in the nation’s capital. Their prayers — and yours — mean so much and sustain us in this great work to which the Lord has called us!

• We will participate in a women’s brunch this Saturday, which is a great time to meet new friends and participate in ministry life on Capitol Hill.
