Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Feb 24, 2025
We trust you are well at this time of change and challenge in our country. Many good things are happening as financial belts are tightened and many “woke” policies in political and corporate culture, which are contrary to our biblical worldview, collapse upon themselves. No doubt, change in Washington and across the heartland may affect some of you — or your families — and the economy has an impact on us all.
We are grateful that God is aware, sovereign, and trustworthy. We pray for our leaders, for humility, wisdom, and knowledge. And we pray for you — and are thankful for your faithful prayers and financial support that keep us here serving on Capitol Hill.
May the Lord be with you!
You form the backbone of Faith & Liberty because of your prayers and financial support. Please also pray about becoming one of our vitally important monthly contributors. Sign up for monthly giving on our website using the DONATE button below and select the option, “I would like to make this a recurring donation.” If you prefer to call, please ask for Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776, and she will gladly assist you. You truly are an important part of our ministry, and we thank you!
Last Tuesday, Faith & Liberty Senior Pastor Rev. Greg Cox and Director of Strategic Partnerships Patty Bills participated last Tuesday in the National Faith Advisory Board conference call featuring the leaders of the new White House Faith Office. They discussed the critical importance of reinforcing religious freedom as a “fundamental value guiding America.”
Lindsey Cruz with Pastor Chris Edmonds at the Congressional Gold Medal Luncheon
Last Thursday, Patty Bills participated in a Zoom discussion, “Chaplain Chat with Chaplain Kibben, Chaplain of the House.” Chaplain Margaret Kibben led a discussion on “Leading in Faith during Turbulent Times.” These are the best of times (for some) and the worst of times (for others), but even Charles Dickens would agree, they are indeed turbulent times. How does faith help us find the way through the turbulence?
Peggy Nienaber attending a Women's Brunch on Capitol Hill
Peggy will attend a Leadership Meeting with time for prayer with members of Congress.
Peggy also will attend a briefing with Senator Mike Lee and Rep. Mary Miller to discuss online safety for children and age verification technology.
Peggy will participate in a meet-and-greet with new members of Congress in the coming weeks.
We are planning for the U.S. Capitol Police Officer of the Year Recognition in March.
Faith & Liberty is also planning to participate in the U.S. House Chaplain’s Ministry Fair in March.
We are sending invitations and setting up reservations for our Congressional Bible Reading in April.
Patty will be hosting a luncheon with the SUMC Sewing Circle to follow up on the recent Live Nativity event and the use of the new costumes.
Thank the Lord for the key opportunities Faith & Liberty staff members have to connect on Capitol Hill to support the values of faith, family, and freedom.
Thank the Lord for the many opportunities we have to engage with members of Congress, especially for those requesting prayer. Pray that new members will be open to engaging in this way.
Pray for all of the logistics to come together for the events we have coming up (See above).
Praise the Lord for how God is using our many Bible studies to increase understanding of God and His Word and to foster fellowship among those working on Capitol Hill.
