Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Feb 17, 2025

From George Washington to Donald Trump, the 47 presidents who have led our nation have had a huge burden placed on their shoulders. It is only fitting that a day has been set aside to remember and honor them — Presidents Day.

As Christians, it is a matter of obedience to the Lord to remember our leaders in prayer, according to I Timothy 2:1-2:

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Don’t we all want the peace and quiet that is godly and dignified? It’s hard to find that in America today. This biblical command is a call to prayer for our president, his administration, the White House Faith Office, and members of Congress, as well as Supreme Court Justices and judges in courtrooms across the country.

Here are some points of prayer for the president:

  • That he would walk humbly before the Lord.
  • That he would receive wise and godly counsel.
  • That he would be in good health.
  • That God would meet the needs of his family.
  • That he would make courageous decisions to strengthen our country.
  • That he would honor God above all.

Will you join Faith & Liberty today in praying this way? We also request your prayers for Faith & Liberty staff members as we minister to leaders and their staff on Capitol Hill! Thank you!
