Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jan 27, 2025

Phew! Last week was a Super Bowl of sorts here in our nation’s capital! Not only did we have Inauguration Day and all of the activities surrounding the presidential transition, but we also celebrated life in a big way! It all converged at once, but it was a really special time to be in Washington. We continue to thank the Lord for placing us on Capitol Hill and for allowing us to connect with so many leaders, whether in government or the pro-life movement, around these events.

It’s amazing that we were able to participate in so many activities considering the transportation challenges in D.C. Cab prices were high, and thousands of people were walking for multiple blocks or even more than a mile to get where they needed to be. Because of the long lines, some could not get into the arena where the major inauguration event was held. Despite the challenges, all is well, and there were many divine appointments!

This week, we will be working diligently on some planning and preparation for upcoming events, but we are looking forward to a quieter week! Thank you to every volunteer, every church, and every prayer and financial supporter who came out to help or partnered with us from the home front. We appreciate you all!

MONDAY RECAP
  • This past week during the inauguration festivities our Faith & Liberty team, Seedline International and Hope to the Hill, and many volunteers distributed close to 30,000 Commemorative 2025 Inauguration Issue Scripture books of John and Romans. We were even able to distribute some of the booklets to members of Congress, including North Carolina Rep. Greg Murphy.

  • We hosted a meet-and-greet Open House for Faith & Liberty supporters for the inauguration. We were delighted to see those who came to the Ministry Center!

  • Faith & Liberty co-hosted the Presidential Inauguration Christian Gala, which sold out!We took part in several inauguration activities including a prayer convocation service, Faith & Liberty breakfast for volunteers, an inauguration watch party, and the National Prayer Service at Washington National Cathedral.

  • We hosted a LIFE Reception at the Ministry Center for those who marched from the rally for March for Life. This time with our Christian brothers and sisters gives us time to fellowship, reflect, and discuss events in our own states regarding life.

  • Faith & Liberty hosted Prayers & Remembrance — Victims of Roe as we remembered the preborn with prayer and laid 3,000 carnations in front of the Supreme Court to memorialize babies lost to abortion in America.

COMING SOON

  • Bible studies begin for the year, including two new ones, women’s breakfast and Thursday evening Bible studies.

  • We are planning for the U.S. Capitol Police Officer of the Year Recognition in March.

  • We are also planning for the U.S. House Chaplain’s Ministry Fair in March.

  • We are sending invitations and taking care of reservations for our Congressional Bible Reading in April.

PRAYER POINTS

Praise the Lord for safe and secure festivities around the inauguration and life events of last week! Thank the Lord for the many volunteers who were real troopers in the bitter cold weather!

Pray that the Commemorative Scriptures we distributed will be valued and read. Thank the Lord for many who have requested copies of this special edition.

Pray especially for the new Bible studies starting this week, that many would be drawn to attend and study God’s Word in fellowship with others.

Pray that God would be honored during President Trump’s administration and that we would be free to live in America as God intended!
