Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

No Room?

Nov 23, 2024

Only 11 days to go until Live Nativity 2024, and we urgently need your help! As you know, Faith and Liberty’s Live Nativity, taking place in front of the U.S. Supreme Court (west side) with the U.S. Capitol directly across the street, is an important reminder that our country is One Nation under GOD — something too many in public service have forgotten.

A Live Nativity doesn’t seem like such a big task until you deal with Washington red tape. It takes countless hours and dollars to arrange all the permits with all the different agencies just to bring the good news of Christ’s birth to the politicians, appointed officials, judges, staff, residents, and tourists gracing D.C. streets during the Christmas season. Think of it this way: to cross just one street near our Ministry Center involves three different police jurisdictions, and we need separate permits from each one!

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO SEND THE MOST GENEROUS GIFT POSSIBLE TO FUND THE LIVE NATIVITY!

As we continue our countdown to the Live Nativity on Capitol Hill, think for a moment about a brief statement in Luke’s description of the birth of Jesus.

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and lain him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn (Luke 2:7).

No room.

While it seems almost an afterthought, think of the power of those two words! The word translated “inn” is not the usual word for a lodging place. Instead, it simply means an enclosure where travelers could drive their cattle for the night, and which might also have a few rooms where the travelers could stay. But even these sparse lodgings were full. Because of the census demanded by Rome, strangers were crowding into the tiny village of Bethlehem, leaving no room for the miracle of God about to happen.

No room for a miracle. Think about that! It wasn’t intentional — it was just the busyness of the matters at hand. The place was packed due to the influx of visitors, and no one was considering that God incarnate might appear in their midst — as had been promised!

How often Washington, D.C., is just like that inn! Filled with legislators, lobbyists, special interests, and the press, the corridors of our nation's Capitol building are consumed with matters of state. Soaring inflation! Illegal immigration! War in Ukraine and Israel! The border crisis! A new administration! So busy — such important issues! There’s no room for personal matters like faith or God, especially in this current White House.

But Faith & Liberty is there to remind our policymakers of their responsibility to God and His Word!

That’s why we do the Live Nativity! It serves as a clear and unmistakable illustration to our national leaders of the miracle of the incarnation. The presence of the Holy Family reminds everyone on Capitol Hill that this tiny baby, born in a manger so many years ago, is the one upon whose shoulders God has placed all government.

But we need your help to make the Live Nativity 2024 happen! Will you stand with us through your prayers and giving?

YOUR generous gift, no matter the size, will result in a bold and dramatic proclamation of the gospel to those on Capitol Hill! PLEASE HELP US FUND THE 2024 LIVE NATIVITY BY SELECTING HERE TO MAKE YOUR URGENTLY NEEDED GIFT!

Thank you for your prayers! Thank you for your generosity! And remember, Christ is born! Let all the earth — including our new incoming national leaders — recognize His authority!
