Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Dec 11, 2024
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” — Psalm 139:13-14
This has been a tense year in the battle between life and death, with abortion advocates ramping up their warfare in the media and on ballots across the nation. As defenders of life, Faith & Liberty has held fast on the front lines, standing firm against the evils of abortion — and as protectors of life, our ministry and the larger pro-life movement have a lot to celebrate this year!
Prayer on Capitol Hill
January is Sanctity of Human Life month, a time where pro-life advocates and leaders across the United States come together to stand up for the lives of the preborn. This year, Faith & Liberty held prayer vigils, where we gathered with leaders, staffers, and interns in Congress to pray:
That America would cherish her children and that it would be unthinkable to end the life of a child in the womb.
For parents who have made wrong choices in the past, that they would know God’s forgiveness and healing.
Against evil forces that would seek to destroy the unity of those who are gathering for pro-life events.
Praise God for the answered prayers!
Taking Action to Defend Life
Along with these special prayer events, our ministry hosted and organized activities to encourage pro-life leaders and advocates. Some of these activities were:
Laying 3,000 carnations in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in memory of the more than 64 million innocent children who were brutally murdered by abortion since the inception of Roe.
Attending the 51st annual March for Life (where despite horrible weather, it was beautiful to see people from all walks of life and generations unite for the preborn).
Hosting a LIFE Reception at our Ministry Center, which was a special time with key pro-life leaders, including Alveda King, a niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Patty Bills attended a Pastors’ Dinner with 70 pro-life pastors who came to the capital for events surrounding the March for Life, a movement that aims to see national pro-life leaders working together to shift the pro-abortion tide.
Peggy Nienaber attended the 11th Annual Law of Life Summit in the capital. This is an exclusive gathering of pro-life leaders, lawyers, media, advocates, and influencers who came together around the March for Life.
And so much more!
Thank you to all our prayer warriors and supporters. Your contributions helped Faith & Liberty show up in a big way in January to defend the lives of the preborn. We won’t stop until abortion is ended in our land!
While we have so many answered prayers to be thankful for this year in the pro-life fight, we are still moving uphill in this battle. Your year-end gifts will go directly to funding our vital ministry efforts in 2025.
Thank you for standing with us at Faith & Liberty. Together, we will continue to challenge our leaders to walk in ways that embrace the righteousness of God, resulting in God’s blessing upon our nation. And we will continue to encourage and disciple the young Capitol Hill staffers and interns who play such a vital role in the federal government.
