Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Nov 4, 2024

This past week, we have been encouraged by the young interns and congressional staffers we serve. Amid their busy schedules in our nation’s capital, they led the way by signing up for every time slot in 24-hour overnight prayer for America and the election on Tuesday. What an inspiration! It certainly gives us hope for the future of our country when younger generations lead this way.

Around the capital, we are aware of heightened security. More fences were placed around government buildings, and busy restaurants in the heart of the city were boarded up ahead of any potential post-election unrest. We must continue to commit our nation and those in authority to our sovereign Creator.

“For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him” (Col. 1:16).

Please join us in unified prayer for the requests below. Grace and peace to you!

MONDAY RECAP
  • Peggy Nienaber spoke to the Prayer Strike Force group of pastors who visited Faith & Liberty in Washington, D.C. We prayed at various monuments and buildings ahead of the presidential election.
  • Friday was our 24-hour Prayer Night with interns and congressional staffers at our Ministry Center. All of the times were filled for overnight prayer as we hosted 24-hour prayer for the election, for our nation’s capital, and our community.
  • On Sunday, several ministries came together for continuous prayer focused on the election. Faith & Liberty joined in prayer on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
  • Patty Bills met with the Swansboro United Methodist Church ladies sewing group who are working diligently on 40 new costumes for the Live Nativity this year. Tony and Deborah Summerlin also came and met these talented seamstresses. The Summerlins so graciously donated to have these costumes designed and sewn for the Live Nativity. We are so blessed to have them as a part of our Faith & Liberty family!

  • Peggy Nienaber and Rev. Greg Cox met with a group of Calvary Chapel pastors from California at the Ministry Center. They introduced the pastors to the impactful work of both Faith & Liberty and Liberty Counsel. The presentations were enthusiastically received!

COMING SOON
  • Peggy Nienaber will be participating in numerous prayer calls before Election Day in conferences and in person.
  • We will have Prayer Teams on Capitol Hill for Election Day prayer.
  • Patty Bills, our director of strategic partnerships, is seeking to obtain permits for our Live Nativity presentation and is working with a skilled sewing circle for the new costumes. The staff of Faith & Liberty are also busy recruiting volunteers for our Live Nativity.
  • Our many weekly Bible studies continue: women’s, men’s, and interns and congressional staffers.

Thank the Lord for our ongoing Bible studies and the fellowship and support that comes from these gatherings.

Thank the Lord for the interns and congressional staffers who are not only dedicated to their work on Capitol Hill but also to praying fervently for the future of our country.
