This is a week of prayer for Faith & Liberty! Prayer is always important, as you know, as it reminds us to humble ourselves before the Lord and seek to please Him in every way. It also reminds us of the goodness and the greatness of our God. With the election coming in just over a week and with our future direction at stake, prayer is critical.

• Today, pastors from California will be in Washington as a “Prayer Strike Force.” Peggy will speak to these pastors today and will lead them in prayer at particular monuments and buildings to focus their prayers for those who work on Capitol Hill and for the election.

• We’ll be hosting two prayer nights with King’s Church. One is a 24-hour prayer night and the other a prayer night bringing in young adults who work on Capitol Hill.

• Starting Friday at 9 p.m., we have 24-hour prayer for interns and staffers at our Ministry Center.

• On Sunday, we’ll join with other ministries for prayer at the U.S. Capitol.

It’s a good time to remind ourselves of who our God is so that our hearts will not be troubled. We’ll leave you with this scripture and ask you to pray with us for our nation this week:

“Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”

• Peggy Nienaber met with congressional staffers in the new U.S. Capitol prayer room this past week.

• U.S. House Chaplain Margaret Kibben held a Zoom call around the theme “Faith over Fear.” Peggy joined in and appreciated praying and talking with ministry leaders on Capitol Hill, which encourages us to share our faith on Capitol Hill without fear.

• Peggy also joined the “40 Days of Prayer,” a nationwide prayer movement leading up to our presidential election.

• Peggy participated in the National Call to the Altar at the Museum of the Bible (photos below). Many pastors and Christians came to prayer just 12 days before the presidential election. We united in prayer asking God to intervene for the good of our country.

 

• Peggy Nienaber will be speaking to the Prayer Strike Force group of pastors who will be in Washington, D.C. We’ll pray at different monuments and buildings seven days prior to the presidential election.

• We look forward to our 24-hour Prayer Night with interns and congressional staffers at our Ministry Center this Friday. Faith & Liberty will host 24-hour prayer for the election, for Washington, D.C., and our community.

• On Sunday, Nov. 3, several ministries will come together for continuous prayer focused on the election. Faith & Liberty will join in prayer on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

• Planning for the Live Nativity is well underway. Patty Bills is working on obtaining permits for the event (which is quite a process!) and working with a skilled sewing circle for the new costumes.
