Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Oct 21, 2024
At the end of every year, we look forward to creating a live and visible demonstration on Capitol Hill of the gospel message — as we have for 20 years now. Last year, our Live Nativity captured the attention of national media outlets, and photos from the event were widely distributed.
So, why is our annual Live Nativity significant? As Christians, the miraculous incarnational story of Jesus’ birth is critical to our faith. But for those who don’t know Christ as Savior and Lord, reading the story at Christmastime from a Bible — which they may or may not have in their homes — likely will not happen. Christmas has become highly commercial for most Americans, and is all about gift giving and home decor, as well as events with family and friends. For many in Washington, D.C., the message of the gospel is foreign or seemingly irrelevant to the grind of their daily lives. That’s why a visual demonstration — in a culture that is highly visual — makes a difference.
Thursday, Dec. 5, is our big day, but there is much to do beforehand! We need volunteers to help, intercessors to pray, and supporters to give for this event to be as effective as it can be! Would you like to know more about how you can help? Please call Patty Bills for details on how you can assist before, during or after the event: 202-737-1776.
Most of all, please pray with us that the gospel of God’s Son will go forth in power to our leaders, and to everyone, in our nation’s capital!
