Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Oct 14, 2024

Anytime the American people — and especially Spirit-led believers in Jesus — congregate at the heart of our nation’s capital, it makes quite the visual impression. But most of all, it impacts the invisible realm as we unify in prayer, knowing that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).

This past week’s massive event, A Million Women — An Esther Call to the Mall, didn’t get to 1 million in attendance, but it brought in a huge crowd of over 250,000 women and men to repent, to fast and pray for our nation and future generations, and to remember the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, as we took communion together on the National Mall.

Remember the simple phrase, “Prayer changes things.” Well, it surely does, and we look forward to seeing what God will do in our nation because of the prayer gatherings of this past week in Washington, D.C. The devil surely knows we mean business!

Let us continue in the same spirit of revival and prayer, asking God for integrity and peace in the upcoming election and for His blessing upon this great nation.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).

MONDAY RECAP
  • Peggy Nienaber participated in the A Million Women — An Esther Call to the Mall in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, which also was the Jewish Day of Atonement as Ministry Manager Lindsey Cruz welcomed guests who stopped by from the day of prayer and fasting.

Lou Engle, who called A Million Women to the National Mall, leads on this special day.

  • Peggy also participated in the Oct. 10-11 National Prayer Assembly, which collaborated with the Million Women gathering. Faith & Liberty staff attended the National Prayer Assembly to join in prayer for America at this critical hour as we face a pivotal election and many other issues, from hurricanes in the South to family issues before Congress.  We prayed in unity, authority, and faith.

Peggy Nienaber and Summer Ingram participate in the National Prayer Assembly.

  • The Aglow women visited our Ministry Center. We are thankful they stand with us in prayer! The group prayed for our staff and the upcoming events. They also participated in the Esther Call to the Mall event.

COMING SOON
  • Peggy Nienaber, senior vice president of Faith & Liberty, and Jonathan Alexandre, vice president of governmental affairs of Liberty Counsel, have been invited to pray on separate individual days during the 40 Days USA, a virtual call to prayer for our nation featuring 40 Christian leaders. We are thankful for this opportunity to engage online during the days prior to the presidential election.

  • This week we will participate in a Meet and Greet with several congressional staffers.

  • Patty Bills meets periodically with the team of ladies who are sewing 40 new costumes for the Live Nativity to get an update on their progress. We are seeking volunteers to participate on the day of the Live Nativity — details to come!

  • We look forward to our Prayer Night gathering interns and congressional staffers at the Ministry Center at the end of the month.

PRAYER

Thank the Lord for no incidents and for a hedge of protection around the huge gatherings in our nation’s capital dedicated to prayer and fasting this past weekend.

Pray that life, religious freedom, and the natural family will prevail in the halls of Congress and in the White House.

Continue to pray for our nation, for protection for all candidates running for office, and thank the Lord that another would-be assassin was stopped at a Donald Trump event in California.

Pray for the integrity of elections across America and that life, freedom, and the natural family will prevail at the polls.

Pray for our Bible studies (resuming tomorrow after Columbus Day) and that the Word of God would have a great impact in the lives of all who attend. Pray for strong Christian friendships to be formed as well!

Pray for good health and energy for every staff member of Faith & Liberty. We have much to do as we minister in Washington, D.C.!

We thank the Lord for all of the interns and staffers who make our Ministry Center their home away from home! Pray for continuing good connections for the new congressional interns on Capitol Hill.
