One of the highlights of our week was seeing how God is using our Ministry Center to reach women. Thursday Night’s Women’s Bible Study had an attendance of 50, a packed house indeed! It truly was a special time of fellowship around the Word of God, and we pray that this group of women will bond as they pursue God’s will and apply His Word in their lives.

God is using our Ministry Center for so many activities that we believe God led us to hire a ministry manager to assist our team. We introduced Lindsey Cruz to you in a previous email, but already, she is proving to be a great asset to the Faith & Liberty team. Along with Bible studies and barbecues, the Faith & Liberty Ministry Center is also available for private prayer meetings.

It’s full steam ahead for upcoming events with She Leads America and the Congressional Breakfast, along with the Dignity of Women’s Sport Luncheon and the showing of the Unthinkable pro-life documentary. The Faith & Liberty team has been working hard on arrangements for all of these events.

MONDAY RECAP

We’re in the final days of summer before the new interns come in and summer interns leave. Faith & Liberty hosted a good old-fashioned barbecue at our Ministry Center. We enjoyed good food and great fellowship!

Faith & Liberty’s Ministry Center Manager Lindsey Cruz attended the Gala hosted by Moms for Liberty. Former President Donald Trump was the evening dinner guest and speaker.

Patty Bills met with a church Ladies Sewing Circle that is assisting us for our Live Nativity. These skilled seamstresses are making 40 new costumes for our outreach event in the nation’s capital this Christmas season. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the Live Nativity event on Dec. 4, now is the time to call Patty at 202-737-1776 and get your name on the list.

As mentioned above, 50 women attended the Women’s Bible Study on Thursday night. We were amazed! This study will run through Nov. 24.

COMING SOON

  • Rock Wednesday resumes this week in the U.S. Capitol. This is a dedicated time of prayer and reflection for congressional staffers.

  • Patty Bills and Peggy Nienaber have been working on a She Leads America Women’s Reception to be held at our Ministry Center in September. This will be a prayer and meet-and-greet time for the ladies to get acquainted and learn about the events of the week, plus share how Faith & Liberty is serving on Capitol Hill.

  • Members have also been invited to the Women’s Congressional Prayer Breakfast recognizing four women members of Congress for their standing for pro-life, pro-family, and other important issues. Many She Leads America leaders also will be present to assist at the event, along with our Faith & Liberty team.

  • Faith & Liberty will participate in the Dignity of Women Sports Lunch on Capitol Hill. Led by Dr. Madeline Manning Mims and Chandra Cheeseborough, both gold and silver Olympic track medalists, this event will inform the media about this important topic. These past Olympians will share their thoughts on fairness in women's sports along with advocate and NCAA volleyball player Macy Petty and other speakers.

  • Faith & Liberty will co-host a screening of the Unthinkable documentary, an Abby Johnson film exposing the dirtiest secrets of the abortion industry. The screening will be on September 25 in the U.S. Capitol. Members of Congress and congressional staffers are expected to attend. Faith & Liberty and Liberty Counsel Action also will co-host a screening of Unthinkable at the Ministry Center in September for leaders on Capitol Hill.

  • In September, Faith & Liberty will host the #Let Them Choose conference at the Ministry Center. The Alliance for Israel Advocacy has asked members of Congress to address attendees about a plan for Gaza.

  • Planning has begun for the Officer Recognition Award ceremony to be held in October where Faith & Liberty will recognize those who serve in law enforcement on Capitol Hill.

PRAYER

Pray for our nation, for protection for all candidates running for office, and for the integrity of elections across America. Pray that life, freedom, and the natural family will prevail at the polls.

Pray for our ongoing Bible studies and the new ones we are adding to the schedule. Pray that the Word of God would have a great impact in the lives of all who come!

Pray for every staff member of Faith & Liberty. Pray for wisdom, too, as we plan our upcoming events and for every detail to fall into place.

Pray for the new congressional interns coming to Capitol Hill. Pray that we will have good connections with them and be able to minister to them at this critical stage of life.
