Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Aug 20, 2024
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. — Isaiah 60:1-2
Thank you for your prayerful support of the unique work of Faith & Liberty. We have some good news for you — your prayers and generosity are making a difference!
Let us explain.
Faith & Liberty is America’s premier Christian missionary outreach to top-level government officials and their staffs in all three branches of government. Our Ministry Center is strategically located directly across from the U.S. Supreme Court, one block from the U.S. Capitol, and 10 minutes from the White House. Every day, the Faith & Liberty team works tirelessly to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers and to inspire them with Christ’s mandate in the two greatest commandments: Love God and Love people.
And it’s working!
For example, at our Ministry Center, we are daily reaching out to young staff and interns working on Capitol Hill through prayer meetings, Bible studies, men’s and women’s fellowships, and other critical ministry activities.
At the same time, much of our ministry work on the Hill is conducted behind the scenes due to the positions held by those to whom we minister. Our team is very effective in this type of unique confidential spiritual ministry. We have been entrusted by leaders in Congress with leading prayer meetings and Bible studies within the Capitol building, and they are powerfully ministering to congressional members and their staff.
Of course, each year we also have programs that constitute our main public ministry, including the Live Nativity, the Flowers for the Unborn Memorial held in front of the Supreme Court on the anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade decision, the Police Officer of the Year Recognition in the U.S. Capitol, Daybreak Prayer at the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Congressional Bible Reading Marathon, just to name a few.
During this election season, with all of the partisan bickering, vitriol, and anger, our message of reconciliation with God and with each other through the finished work of Jesus Christ is finding a receptive audience with many on the Hill. Just recently, we saw 20 congressional interns and staff publicly declare their faith in the Lord Jesus in the waters of baptism. Praise God!
Without a doubt, Faith & Liberty is touching lives and impacting our nation’s leaders every day. Our efforts are critical — and that’s why, more than ever, we need your prayers and financial support.
We know you are being bombarded by requests on all sides, including from lots of political candidates. But the answer to the spiritual decay America is experiencing does not have a political solution. It is only by the power of the Gospel that we are saved. As the Scriptures declare, righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Prov. 14:34). America needs a revival of faith and a revival of righteousness — and we believe it can begin on Capitol Hill.
That’s why, whether in the halls of Congress, in front of the Supreme Court, or at the White House, your team at Faith & Liberty is prophetically declaring the Word of God without compromise. And, just like Amos the prophet, who stood in the ivory palaces of the kings of Israel, we will not be intimidated, we will not be silenced. As Amos said, we have heard the Lion roar!
But our work is only possible because of the prayers and continued generosity of wonderful friends like you who stand with us in our efforts.
We need your prayers, and we need your generous support. The battle for the soul of our nation is a battle we must win!
