This is a big week for Democrats as they gather in Chicago. Around 50,000 people are expected in the Windy City for this week’s convention. Many protests — from pro-life to pro-Palestinian causes — are expected as well.

We are thankful for pro-life voices both inside and outside the Democrat Party. Sadly, though, in reflection of the party’s platform and presumptive nomineee, we see in-your-face promotion of abortion. Visitors are being offered free vasectomies blocks from the DNC — and free abortions at a pop-up RV “clinic.”

In our nation’s capital, Faith & Liberty promotes life, often working with other ministries to make our voices known in the hubbub of activity on Capitol Hill. Thank you for supporting Faith & Liberty in the highest cause of all — life. When innocent life is snuffed out, America suffers. It’s only by God’s great mercy that our nation still exists and is a force in the world.

We pray for the repentance of those who promote this horrid culture of death in Chicago, Washington, and across our land. We pray for pastors and politicians who need the grace to speak out against this bloody frenzy in many states in America — and sadly, which is even supported in some churches. May God convict our hearts!

Isaiah 44:24 puts life in perspective: “Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself.’”

May God have mercy!

COMING SOON

  • Patty Bills and Peggy Nienaber have been working on a She Leads America Women’s Reception to be held at our Ministry Center in September. This will be a prayer and meet-and-greet time for the ladies to get acquainted and learn about the events of the week, plus share how Faith & Liberty is serving on Capitol Hill.

  • Members have also been invited to the Women’s Congressional Prayer Breakfast recognizing women Members of Congress for their pro-life, pro-family and other important issues. Many She Leads America Leaders will be present to assist in the event.

  • Faith & Liberty will participate in the Dignity of Women Sports Lunch on Capitol Hill. Led by Dr. Madeline Manning Mims and Chandra Cheeseborough, both gold and silver Olympic track medalists, this event will inform the media about this important topic. These past Olympians will share their thoughts on fairness in women's sports along with advocate and NCAA volleyball player Macy Petty and other speakers.

  • Faith & Liberty will co-host a screening of the Unthinkable documentary, an Abby Johnson film exposing the dirtiest secrets of the abortion industry. The screening will be on September 25 in the U.S. Capitol.

  • Faith & Liberty and Liberty Counsel Action also will co-host a screening of Unthinkable at the Ministry Center in September for leaders on Capitol Hill.

  • In September, Faith & Liberty will host the #Let Them Choose conference at the Ministry Center. The Alliance for Israel Advocacy has asked members of Congress to address attendees about a plan for Gaza.

  • Planning has begun for the Officer Recognition Award ceremony to be held in October where Faith & Liberty will recognize those who serve in law enforcement on Capitol Hill.


PRAYER
Pray that God would turn the hearts of our nation’s leaders to follow His ways. Pray for protection for all the candidates and for the integrity of elections across America.

Pray for meaningful opportunities for our members of Congress to connect with their constituents in their districts (until September 9). Pray also for opportunities to meet and pray with congressional staffers while the members are away.
 
Thank the Lord for a restful and prayerful annual retreat!

Pray for our many upcoming events, that details would fall into place, and that all who attend would be blessed.

Pray for all who attend our Bible studies, that God’s Word would bear spiritual fruit in their lives. Pray that new staffers and interns would come and make studying the Scriptures a priority in their busy schedules!
