When Roe v. Wade was overturned, we rejoiced in this victory for life. But protesters smeared with fake blood filled the plaza in front of the Supreme Court. Before, during, and after the High Court’s ruling was released, Faith & Liberty took a stand for life. We prayed to God our Creator who gives and sustains life.

It was a difficult day this past Saturday when blood flowed again, but this time, it was real. We watched as our miracle-working God saved yet another life, the life of President Trump. We know that the shooter and former fire chief were killed, and two others were injured in the fray, and we pray for their families as they mourn this senseless tragedy. We are reminded, however, that this week would have been very different for the Trump family, his party, and for America had his life been taken in this despicable act. And so, we give glory to God who miraculously thwarted the attempt of a would-be assassin.

• Prayer Retreat: Our Faith & Liberty team takes an annual private prayer retreat, which will be the first week of August, so just a couple of weeks from now! • We will continue our night of prayer each month until the November election.

• We expect Rock Wednesdays to meet early in the morning before staffers head to work, but not only on Wednesday. We’ll soon be able to use the new Interfaith Staff Prayer Room in the Cannon House Office Building, and we're thankful to be able to meet more frequently.

• Patty Bills is meeting weekly with a local women’s sewing group who are using their skills to design and sew — by hand — our new Live Nativity costumes. This is no easy job, and we are thankful!
