Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Jul 1, 2024
With elections, our nation’s capital sees many changes every two or four years. With these comings and goings, we have new faces to get to know, and that holds true with the younger set as well.
Interns serving on Capitol Hill are headed home to continue developing their lives and careers, while a new batch of young fresh faces come to the halls of Congress to expand their horizons this summer. At Faith & Liberty, we warmly welcome these young adults the Lord has brought us to mentor at this critical stage of life and disciple in their walk with the Lord. Pray for us as we make these important connections to care for and guide our next generation of leaders.
We’ll also be enjoying summertime in the beauty of Washington with gatherings outdoors and a small group Olympics event! As we enjoy this fellowship time, we expect a deepening of relationships that will allow us to have important conversations. Thank you for praying with us for these divine appointments!

The Faith & Liberty team hosted a Prayer Night on Thursday at the Ministry Center focused on praying for Washington, D.C., and the upcoming elections.
Then on Friday, we hosted all-day prayer for the Supreme Court and its decisions, including the ruling on the Idaho emergency abortion case. Teams gathered at the Ministry Center to pray for the Justices while groups were in front of the Court during the release of opinions.

COMING SOON
New congressional interns have arrived in Washington, D.C. This affords us an opportunity to connect with new young adults for a time of prayer, and invite them to church and our Bible studies.
Peggy Nienaber will participate in the upcoming small group Olympics and Taste of the Nations contest.
Prayer Retreat: Our Faith & Liberty team takes an annual private prayer retreat, which will be the first week of August. During this time, we look to the Lord to guide and strengthen us for this strategic work for His glory and honor. We also set aside time to intercede for every one of our supporters — by name. Please submit your prayer requests by calling Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776 or by emailing us at [email protected].
PRAYER
During this Independence Day week, we pray for America. Join in as we intercede that:
Those in authority at every level of government would acknowledge the Lord in all their ways.
We would remain a free people, free to live out our faith.
We would preserve the lives of the unborn and protect children in our nation.
The family, as God designed it, would be preserved.
Our military would adhere to the principles that made this nation great.
Righteousness would prevail in public policy and in our courts.
As Christians and Americans, each of us would do our part as responsible citizens to steward this great nation.
