Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jun 24, 2024

Today — June 24 — we celebrate two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the egregious 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that led the way to taking millions of unborn lives.

This weekend, the Lincoln Memorial was the place to be for the first annual National Celebrate Life Weekend where thousands gathered for a rally to celebrate, learn, and strategize for the continuing war on life. Our dear friend from Liberty Counsel and Liberty Counsel Action, Jonathan Alexandre, was invited to speak and sing at this rally. We were also thankful to have pro-life activist and author Abby Johnson speak to some pro-life groups at our Ministry Center.

In light of this significant anniversary, we thank you for standing with Faith & Liberty in the fight for the unborn. We value your ongoing prayers and faithful support as we stand strong and united for life at a time when parents are confused, the culture is self focused, and the church isn’t fully mobilized.

Let’s all do our part to fight for life, liberty, and the family, and remind ourselves why we do what we do: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Col. 3;23-24).

MONDAY RECAP

Thursday was Intern Night at our Ministry Center. We thank the Lord that the interns working on Capitol Hill find our Ministry Center a safe and welcoming place to be here in Washington.

On Friday, we brought hearts and voices of praise to our monthly Worship Night at the Ministry Center.

We are ever so thankful for our many Bible studies across our nation’s capital that help interns, congressional staffers, and others focus on and find wisdom in the never-changing Word of God. We are also thankful for the enjoyment and fellowship that comes as participants get to know each other!

Rev. Greg Cox and Peggy Nienaber recently met with the leadership of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty (CALL). This alliance of chaplain endorsers from conservative denominations represents about 2,600 chaplains from different backgrounds such as CEO of ECA International, military chaplain endorsers across the country, and other chaplains across the USA. This small delegation of the CALL comes to Washington, D.C., several times a year to meet with congressional members in support of religious freedom. It was the efforts of the CALL that resulted in the Pentagon’s rescinding the vaccine mandate.

Faith & Liberty also hosted ECA International President and CEO Rev. Dr. Robert Turrill for his important meeting. He and his wife have been longtime supporters and prayer warriors for our Ministry Center.

We have spent some focused time before the Supreme Court as important decisions are expected this week. We are asking for wisdom for the Justices and surrounding the whole environment with prayer.

We were pleased to welcome Abby Johnson, president of And Then There Were None and Pro-Love Ministries, at the Faith & Liberty Ministry Center this past weekend. She gave a lecture to over 30 pro-life members who were in town for the National Celebrate Life Rally.

COMING SOON

We anticipate the dedication of a new prayer room in the U.S. Capitol. House Chaplain Margaret Kibben recently shared the news of this prayer room for congressional staff, which will be a place to pray quietly amid the hubbub of busy government offices!

This Thursday, we’ll host a Prayer Night focused on praying for the city. Continuing throughout Friday, June 28, we’ll host all-day prayer for the Supreme Court and its decisions, including the upcoming ruling on an Idaho emergency abortion case.

We are excited to host the Judicial Action Prayer Team this week at our Ministry Center.

Christmas in June ~ Patty Bills will kick off the first meeting of the season for the making of the costumes for our Live Nativity this Christmas.

PRAYER

Pray for good health and stamina for the Faith & Liberty staff members. The demands of our ministry work are great!

Pray that our Bible studies will continue to have an impact on the spiritual lives of those who attend and desire to grow in their walk with the Lord.

Pray for the Supreme Court to wisely decide for life and liberty in its cases. Some major decisions are expected this week.

Pray for the leaders of our nation, that they would humbly seek the Lord for wisdom as they lead, and for free and fair elections this fall.
