Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jun 17, 2024

Between Bible studies and prayer times, it felt like Americana last week here in Washington, D.C. Of course, it was a lot of fun with ice cream socials and Wiffle ball/baseball games, but amid these festivities, there were times of meaningful prayer and spiritual connection.

Our regular Bible studies are going strong, and next week, we’ll have significant extended prayer at our Ministry Center. More on that later.

For now, we thank you, most of all, for your ongoing prayers and financial support to sustain our unique and vital ministry on Capitol Hill!

MONDAY RECAP

Wednesday afternoon, June 12, it was ice cream for all on Capitol Hill! The 40th Annual Ice Cream Social is an annual tradition for members of Congress, their families, Capitol Hill staff, and special guests, and it was a great time to network with those who work on the Hill.

On Wednesday evening, the annual bipartisan Congressional Baseball Game was held at Nationals Park. Peggy attended with the interns and congressional staffers. Despite climate change protesters interrupting the game, we were safe, PTL! The Republicans won for the fourth consecutive year and raised more than 2.2 million dollars for Make-A-Wish Foundation and other charities.

The monthly ministry luncheon this past week was a time for Peggy to represent Faith & Liberty to connect and pray with other ministries on Capitol Hill.  It was also an opportunity for us to share what we are doing at our Ministry Center.

To conclude the busy week, Peggy led her team as captain on Saturday at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Wiffle ball tournament, which, we are thankful, raised significant funds for youth to go to Christian camps this summer. We love to coordinate in a spirit of unity and brotherly love with other ministries to support what they’re doing!

COMING SOON

This Thursday is Intern Night at our Ministry Center.

On Friday, we will have our monthly Worship Night at the Ministry Center.

On Thursday, June 27, we’ll host a Prayer Night focused on praying for the city. Continuing throughout Friday, June 28, we’ll host all-day prayer for the Supreme Court and its decisions, including the upcoming ruling on an Idaho emergency abortion case.

PRAYER

Pray that our Bible studies will continue to have an impact on the spiritual lives of those who attend and desire to grow in their walk with the Lord.

Pray for the planning that goes into Faith & Liberty events, including next week’s extended prayer times at the Ministry Center.

Pray for good health and stamina for the Faith & Liberty staff members. We’ve got to be able to keep up with young interns!

Pray for the Supreme Court to wisely decide for life and liberty in its cases.

Pray for the leaders of our nation, that they would humbly seek the Lord for wisdom as they lead, and for free and fair elections this fall.
