Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
May 20, 2024
One of the most encouraging aspects of our ministry on Capitol Hill comes in working with the young interns who come to Washington. These young people are the cream of the crop, and they have bright futures. Some of them will likely be leaders in their communities, states, or here in our nation’s capital.
These young people have a vision for the future of America and want to make a difference! We, in turn, have the opportunity to shape their lives and destinies. Won’t you pray that Faith & Liberty will have an exceptional impact on their lives for the sake of the gospel — and for the future of our nation?
Pray for our Bible studies, mentoring times, and fun and fellowship activities. All of these can turn into important times of connection, prayer, and discipleship.
Thank you for standing with Faith & Liberty in prayer and giving so we can have a presence on Capitol Hill! We appreciate you!

Multiple events honoring the police were held last week for Police Week. May 15 also was designated as “Peace Officers Memorial Day.” Faith & Liberty participated in several events to remember the fallen officers and to pray for those who keep us safe on Capitol Hill. American flags were flown at half-staff in honor of those officers during the week.
Peggy Nienaber attended the Monday evening Annual Candlelight Vigil that was held on the National Mall. High-ranking government officials read the names of fallen law enforcement officers.
Monday afternoon, we attended a Pastors’ Meet and Greet for chaplains who came to Washington, D.C., for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
A new Bible study for interns on Capitol Hill started Thursday, and we continued our other weekly Bible studies as well.
COMING SOON
The National Pro-Life Religious Council will be meeting at the Ministry Center this week prior to the pro-life meetings scheduled in Congress.

Bible Studies continue to draw new staffers each week to learn, pray, and study the Word.
PRAYERThank the Lord that there was no disruption to last week’s special police ceremonies.
Pray for the anti-Israel protests across the country to be quelled and for the safety of the police engaging the protesters.
Pray for the key leaders of our nation, that they will turn their hearts to the Lord. Pray for the freedom and future of America.
Pray for safe and fair elections this November, and that life will win on the many state ballot initiatives in play.
Thank the Lord for opportunities to be a witness for Christ on both sides of the aisle. Pray for greater openness as Faith & Liberty ministers to members of Congress, as well as to staffers and interns.
Pray for continuing ministry opportunities with the interns and staffers on Capitol Hill.
