Too Close For Comfort

May 4, 2024

The U.S. House is facing turmoil again, with three Representatives calling for Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to be removed. This could create a huge distraction and put radical Democrats in a position of power to negotiate their own priorities.

One of Democrats’ highest priorities is to pass the “Equality Act” to launch the greatest weaponization of our federal government to force on everyone the LGBTQ agenda and abortion up to birth. We can’t even imagine how much this bill will turn our freedom of religion on its head and make it open season on people of faith.

HR 15 is close to passing — too close for comfort. The consequences will reach everyone.

Across the nation, courts are dealing with the radical LGBTQ agenda. We’ll share two situations below that would have gone very differently if the so-called “Equality Act” was passed.

Freedom of speech and freedom of religion are too precious to lose on our watch. With only a one-vote margin in the U.S. House, the members of Congress need to hear from you! Urge them to do everything in their power to block HR 15 with your immediate faxes. — Your Faith & Liberty team

In a victory, this month the U.S. Supreme Court allowed to go into effect a 2023 law in Idaho that bans puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mutilating surgeries for minors while the case continues to be litigated in a lower court.

There are 24 states with similar laws protecting minors. The pendulum has begun to swing for the better in Europe as it is now in many states. People of common sense are not buying this agenda.

Gender confusion dissipates as a child grows older — up to 85% or more will naturally become content with their biological birth sex. There is no reason — in fact, it is immoral — to maim, sterilize, and harm children just because they are suffering from gender confusion, which is often a symptom of other underlying psychological stress, peer pressure, or indoctrination.

HR 15 has 213 co-sponsors, but with the current Republican seat vacancies, the margin is just ONE VOTE!

Any upheaval of leadership in the House is an opening for pushing this bill forward. The Equality Act must be stopped.

In Virginia, a teacher agreed to use the chosen name of a student but refused to use incorrect pronouns. After being warned and then fired, Peter Vlaming, a former French teacher at West Point High School, filed a lawsuit against the school. A lower court threw out the case. However, on appeal, all seven members of the Virginia Supreme Court agreed that the case should move forward.

While the school argues that Vlaming violated its “non-discrimination policy,” Vlaming says he cannot lie to the student due to his “sincerely held religious and philosophical” beliefs.

Will schools be able to force their teachers to lie to the kids in their classroom and violate their sincerely held religious beliefs?

The Osseo school district in Minnesota just tried to force “LGBTQIA+” instruction on teachers and students. The instruction included the use of grammatically and scientifically incorrect pronouns. Some of the suggested “gender neutral” pronouns include made-up words like “zhee,” “zhem,” and “zheres.” This is nuts!

The school district was shocked by the pushback when students stayed home, and about 1,000 students in one school alone flooded the theater and the gym rather than report to class.

But the Equality Act would completely overturn the legal landscape and destroy the very fabric of our nation. It would affect everyone.

If HR 15 passes, the government and private individuals will have a license to persecute people of faith like never before in our nation’s history.

There are currently 213 co-sponsors of this bill. Democrats only need one Republican to file a discharge petition to bypass the Speaker of House and pass this bill. There are six Mormon Republican members of the House, and last year, the Mormon church caved and supported the “Respect for Marriage Act.” In fact, 47 Republicans voted for it on the first vote and 39 after it passed the Senate. These numbers show how little these legislators understand the importance of marriage, family, and the moral fabric of our nation.

It is critical to make your voice heard by every legislator! We must fight for freedom and for our children and grandchildren now more than ever!

We MUST stop the Equality Act from forcing teachers to lie, demanding that churches welcome this into their Sunday schools and day cares, and silencing our freedom to speak.
