Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Mar 30, 2024
“She said that I needed to have an abortion. I needed to abort quickly because my life was in danger,” the mother of four recalled her critical conversation with her doctor. The doctor said “I would die” if I didn’t abort and that it “wasn’t really a baby, he was a mass of fetal tissue. She was also told her baby was “a tumor.”
On this Good Friday, we remember the war between good and evil, life and death. Abortion is at the center of this epic struggle.
The darkness of Crucifixion Day was replaced by Resurrection Day. This weekend teaches us to never give up. Never despair.
Right now, Democrats are within five votes (or maybe less with the recent resignations of Republican House members) of passing HR 12 that will force every state to allow abortion right up to and during birth. We must stop this bill. HR 12 will erase every restriction on abortion in our nation. Make your voice heard in the halls of Congress, demanding justice for these children. —Your Faith & Liberty team
A husband and wife prayed for a son that would preach the gospel. However, the mother’s pregnancy was “high risk.” She was 37, living in a remote area, far from care that she — let alone her child — would need. Despite strong criticism from the community — and the advice of her doctor — she chose to risk her own life to keep her unborn baby alive.
She had little to no medical care during pregnancy. The pregnancy was so difficult that nearly every day she feared she would lose her baby. The placenta was not properly attached for the entire nine months, and every day that passed a huge blood clot was growing alongside the baby. She was assigned to bedrest for months.
She was given medication for amoeba, which targets the intestines and can be deadly if left untreated. After taking one pill, she discovered that the side effects included severe birth defects. She immediately threw away the pills and suffered with symptoms for the rest of her pregnancy.
When her child was finally born, his four older siblings nicknamed him the “tumor,” yet he was a healthy child, though slightly malnourished at less than 7 pounds. “But he made up for it,” his mom, Pam, said proudly of her son ... the Heisman Trophy winner, football quarterback, baseball player, and preacher, Tim Tebow, who was once called America’s most eligible bachelor.
Even if a child doesn’t end up in the spotlight, their life is just as valuable. But when a woman considers abortion, she can only see the troubles she is facing in the moment — not the bright future of her child. This is satanic deception. Life always trumps death.
But life is exactly what some members of Congress are trying to snuff out with HR 12. This is the most radical abortion bill Congress has ever considered. It will erase EVERY ABORTION REGULATION IN AMERICA. This includes parental notification, informed consent, waiting periods, age and viability restrictions, health and safety rules, and the list goes on.
Each child who loses his or her life has the potential to do so much good, but abortion ends that life. And the number of abortions still happening is just heartbreaking, even after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
One abortion provider is running a mail order sham out of a basement and is sending out nearly 10,000 abortion pills a month! At the recommended cost of each of these pills at 500 dollars, that is 5 million dollars of income EVERY MONTH — for killing children. New York is proud of this culture of death and promotes it to other states where abortion is restricted.
However, HR 12 would take this culture of death and shove it back out into every state, every hospital, every pharmacy, and even every midwife across our nation.
We cannot sit back when this bill is a top priority to Democrats and is sitting in the U.S. House just a handful of votes away from passing. We cannot rest when there are pro-abortion Republican legislators in Congress.
Abortion is deadly to the children and to the mothers. The National Institutes of Health reports that a study on abortion’s “long-term effects included depression (44%), feelings of loss (31%), shame (27%), and phobic responses to infants (13%). For 42% of these women, the adverse psychological effects of abortion endured over 10 years.”
The scale of abortions happening across America is breathtaking. HR 12 is close to passing. We need every voice to stop it. Get involved in changing the culture and the laws in America. Send faxes, sign our petition, forward this email, and/or speak up in your community.
