The most extreme abortion bill just reached 213 confirmed votes in the U.S. House. The “Women’s Health Protection Act” (HR 12 and S 701) will allow abortion at any time, for any reason, up to birth.

HR 12 and its companion bill in the Senate will even erase restrictions on gruesome late-term abortions that rip off limbs or partial birth abortions performed on children partially delivered.

The bill will override EVERY state law. No one — not doctors, nurses, even religious institutions, or insurance providers — will be able to withdraw from participating in this horrific life-ending atrocity.

HR 12 specifically includes any “medical location” or any providers, “including any physician, certified nurse-midwife, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or physician assistant.” These abortion mandates would apply to both midwives and pharmacists!

We’ll share below the radical language in this bill as a shocking window into the minds of these radicals. Democrats need only five more votes. If passed, this bill will override every pro-life law and permit abortion up to birth for any reason — all funded by us, the taxpayers.

House Republicans have a razor-thin margin with several pro-abortion Republicans among their ranks. This bill is close to passing the House, which is our best chance to stop it. This misnamed bill turns murder into a national right. Here are just a few sections of the bill:

• “Abortion services are essential health care.”

• “Abortion care, like all health care, is a human right.”

• “Being denied an abortion can have serious consequences for people’s physical, mental, and economic health and well-being.”

• Stating there is “a constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy.”

• Alleging “Travel time to an abortion clinic, already a burden for abortion seekers under Roe, has more than tripled since Dobbs.”

• Abortion is referred to as “reproductive justice.”

• Abortion must be available for “Black women and birthing people.”

• Stating “The terms ‘woman’ and ‘women’ are ... rooted in misogyny.”

The bill then states that: “A health care provider has a right ... and a patient has a corresponding right under this Act to terminate a pregnancy after viability when, in the good-faith medical judgement of the treating health care provider, it is necessary to protect the life or health of the patient.”

This “life or health” terminology has been stretched to mean anything, thus allowing abortion for any reason, at any time, up to and during birth.

With 213 votes, Democrats need only five more votes to bypass the Speaker and pass this bill. We need to speak up now for those who have no voice. Urge key legislators to oppose HR 12 and S 701.

In addition, this bill explicitly declares: “A State may provide additional circumstances under which post viability abortions are permitted.” This will allow for states to undo ANY restrictions on late-term abortions on children viable outside the womb. This will override the current federal law that bans partial birth abortion. This is sick!

Then it goes on to demand that those in the medical field must also provide “contraceptive services; testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections; [and] LGBTQ health services."

If we lose this battle and HR 12 slips through, not one pro-life law will survive. This bill could even undo health and safety regulations.

The most frustrating thing about these abortion ballot measures is that they are often intentionally vague, misleading, and deceptively worded, which is confusing.
