Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is spearheading five senators who plan to introduce legislation on Monday to fight against programmable government digital currency in the vein of Communist China’s digital yuan.

Joe Biden and his admin are racing ahead with a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) as fast as possible. Sen. Cruz said, “The Biden administration salivates at the thought of infringing on our freedom and intruding on the privacy of citizens to surveil their personal spending habits, which is why Congress must clarify that the Federal Reserve has no authority to implement a CBDC.”

At the same time, China — even with the level of communist control it exerts — is now facing serious hacking of its digital currency with a new fake app. This “Trojan App” is one that looks similar to the real app with its “logo, user interface, and slogans,” but in reality, it is a way to swindle users out of their hard-earned money. The government had to issue a warning to alert users.

What is at risk now is much more than “convenience,” warns Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC).

“As Americans face the prospect of an increasingly weaponized government, ensuring financial privacy is pivotal. A CBDC would open the door for the federal government to surveil and control the spending habits of all Americans. Any push to establish a CBDC must be confronted and stopped,” Sen. Budd says.

There is chatter about launching a CBDC as a part of government welfare, so that the government could entice or mandate welfare recipients to use a centralized, government-controlled digital dollar.

Central Bank Digital Currencies are designed for one singular purpose — ultimate control over law-abiding citizens’ purchases, actions, and movements.

In 2019, the Communist Chinese Party (CCP) began piloting a Central Bank Digital Currency. After a slow start, the digital currency began to quickly accelerate in 2023. With 120 million wallets now open and more than 2 trillion yuan transactions, this Chinese currency is already chipping away at the dominance of the U.S. dollar.

A new addition allows transactions without access to electricity. Access to this digital dollar is spreading cross border to Hong Kong and Europe.

“The end of cash and the insta-analysis of financial transactions enable surveillance, state control, and, eventually, social engineering on a scale never thought possible,” said Alex Gladstein, chief strategy officer at the Human Rights Foundation.

Gladstein continues: “When the government can take financial privileges away for posting the wrong word on social media, saying the wrong thing in a call to parents, or sending the wrong photo to relatives, individuals self-censor and exercise extreme caution. In this way, control over money can create a social chilling effect.”

The CBDC agenda is a means to track and control what you own and what you can buy or sell, and to punish you for behaviors unrelated to your finances. This would make a Vaccine Passport look like child’s play compared to what this digital currency could know and control about you.

This agenda has no business in a free world!

These attacks on freedom are serious. We still have time to derail this global takeover.

This level of financial control in a central system is very attractive to hackers. The Chinese government has had to admit a third public attack on its CBDC since 2021. Who knows how many other attempts have been made?

Do we really want to turn over control of every penny to a central government that is susceptible to hacking?

We certainly don’t.

Now is the best time to stop CBDCs. Send your urgent faxes to Congress to tell them to act before it’s too late. These attacks on freedom are serious.
