Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Jan 15, 2024
This is an important week as we affirm and celebrate the blessing of preborn life. If you cannot be in Washington, D.C., with thousands of participants at the 2024 March for Life, we know you are with us in spirit! We stand for life together no matter where we are in the country.
Pro-life activities abound this week as we continue to work together and pray for divine help in the ongoing battle for life in the states and in the halls of Congress.
We also understand the presence of evil forces working against us. We are cautioned in Scripture to be aware of the devil and what he has in mind, which is to “steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Also, 2 Corinthians 2:11 tells us to be wary of him so we are not “taken advantage of” and that we must not be “ignorant of his schemes.”
In that light, pray that Satan’s work against those participating in pro-life meetings and the march this week would come to naught and that God would be glorified.
Today, we also remember Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Like Dr. King, we pray that everyone in America would, in fact, be judged by their character, not by the color of their skin.
Thank you, too, for standing with Faith & Liberty with your faithful prayers and financial support!

THE MONDAY RECAP
Our Bible studies started this past week, and we ask that God grow these wonderful groups that meet in our Ministry Center and across the District.
A new Women’s Bible Study started Sunday afternoon at the Ministry Center. We will be focusing on the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. Twenty-six women came and enjoyed fellowship and conversation.
The interns gathered Friday night to enjoy games and fellowship. We’re happy to open the Ministry Center for them to get together every Friday evening.
COMING SOON
This is the week for Rock Wednesday, the monthly prayer time that Peggy Nienaber facilitates on Capitol Hill.
Twenty-three interns of high school age are coming to Washington this week, and we will have the opportunity to connect with them as they learn more about the America’s history and the federal government. They will enter the U.S. Supreme Court to hear oral arguments Tuesday morning.
Our Life Reception will be held at the Ministry Center this Friday, January 19, the same day as the 51st annual March for Life, which will draw thousands to our nation’s capital to stand for the lives of the unborn.
Prayers of Remembrance — Victims of Roe Memorial will be held Monday, January 22, outside the U.S. Supreme Court. It’s quite a visual event as we and others lay 3,000 flowers in front of the Court in memory of children lost to abortion. We will lay the flowers at 11 a.m., and many will also share prayers, songs, and remembrances.
Peggy Nienaber will be attending Thursday’s 11th Annual Law of Life Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit is an exclusive gathering of pro-life leaders, lawyers, media, advocates, and influencers that come together around the March for Life event.
Patty Bills will be attending a Pastor’s Dinner with 70 pro-life pastors who will be in D.C. this year for events surrounding the March for Life. This movement aims to see national pro-life leaders working together to shift the pro-abortion tide in America.
Looking ahead, Faith & Liberty will participate in the Congressional Ministry Fair on March 21. Held in the Rayburn House Office Building, the event is sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives Chaplain Margaret Kibben. This will give us an opportunity to connect with congressional staffers, employees, and members of Congress.
PRAYER
In this week where we focus on life, pray that America would cherish her children. May it be unthinkable to end the life of a child in the womb! Pray that the church would come to the aid of parents in distress.
Pray for parents who have made wrong choices in the past, that they would know God’s forgiveness and healing.
Pray against evil forces that would seek to destroy the unity of those who are gathering for pro-life events in D.C. and across America. Pray for safety for the event organizers and participants.
Pray for Faith & Liberty’s Life Reception and the Prayers of Remembrance — Victims of Roe Memorial service.
Thank the Lord for the many babies saved since the June 2022 Dobbs decision that ended the reign of Roe v. Wade.
Most of all, pray for an end to abortion in our land!
