Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 18, 2023

We love Christmas decorations, don’t you? In Washington, we get to see all kinds of Christmas trees, including the patriotic ones (see the photo below), and enjoy the creativity that goes into each one dressed in a variety of lights, colorful ribbon, and what sometimes feels like an overwhelming number of ornaments!

Sometimes, though, don’t you just long for Christmas to be about the One whose name is actually in the holiday? Some believers have taken to calling the holiday “CHRISTmas.” How appropriate!

At Faith & Liberty, we are still focused on the coming of the Christ child, whom we celebrated on Dec. 7 with a processional that ended in front of the Supreme Court. It had been two decades in the making as this year was our 20th anniversary of presenting on Capitol Hill this bold declaration of the true Reason for the Season.

We continue to thank you for assisting us with praying, giving, and volunteering so we could pull off the amazing feat of bringing Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, and their human and animal entourage complete with all of the necessary government permits to do so! Speaking of volunteers, we’d especially like to thank one volunteer who has come from New Jersey for more than 15 years and another volunteer from Virginia who has participated for many years. Others have helped for four years or more.

We pray this beautiful presentation and its gospel focus lives on in the hearts of those who saw it live that day or online through our video stream. If you didn’t see it or you want to view it again and share it with others, click on this link and enjoy!

Our team has been receiving many emails, phone calls, and notes as many tell us they were touched by the Live Nativity presentation this year.

So, in this beautiful CHRISTmas season, let us continue to gaze upon the babe who came as our Savior, our Immanuel, “God with us.”

God be with you!
