A frantic father called Dr. Miriam Grossman from the hospital. His daughter, Emma, had cut her arms and ended up in the ER. And her dad was reaching out for help from a licensed child psychiatrist.

Life had been hard for Emma. Her mom committed suicide when she was just 4 years old. Emma had a speech impediment that caused her to be extra shy and subjected her to bullying at school. She had no close female role models. When COVID hit, she was terrified of getting it and locked herself in her bedroom so that even when her father returned from long hours at work, they barely interacted.

When she was 15 years old, during COVID, Emma’s entire world was online. There she found carefully edited videos of girls celebrating their “masculinity” after taking puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. When she told her father she wanted to be a “boy,” he connected her with a therapy specialist. This specialist uncovered Emma’s past, including exposure to pornography that demeaned and denigrated women, as well as sexual assault from a male cousin.

Working through the past trauma and her low self-esteem, Emma was making great progress. But then she was bullied at school, and that’s what sent her over the edge.

She cut her arms repeatedly and was rushed to the hospital where Dr. Grossman received the frantic call from Emma’s father.

The events that followed this frantic call underscore why we must stop the “Equality Act” (HR 15) from passing.

Emma’s story is still being written, but there are many doctors, nurses, and other professionals who are pushing these kids down a conveyer belt of transgenderism with no known path to exit.

The first thing the hospital staff did was ask Emma her “gender.” The hospital “affirmed” Emma as a “boy” named “Oliver.” When the staff learned that the father would not affirm this false identity, they questioned him.

Adolescent psychiatrist Riittakerttu Kaltiala, Finland’s expert on gender-dysphoric youth, warned that “it is common for psychiatrist symptoms to spread among girls in the same hospital ward.”

Before Florida passed a law banning puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mutilating surgeries on minors, some schools in Florida intentionally lied to parents while grooming students in the LGBTQ agenda. In Tallahassee, Florida, Jeffrey Littlejohn learned that the school had his daughter sign a secret “gender non-conforming student support plan.”

Teachers were told to lie to parents. And back to Emma, the hospital staff insisted that the father “affirm” Emma (that is, Oliver) as a “boy.”

If HR 15 becomes law, this madness will be in every hospital, doctor’s office, school, daycare, and more. Children will be hurt, and parents will lose their rights – and even their children!

WE NEED EVERY VOTE AND EVERY VOICE. We need your voice NOW to send a strong message. STOP HR 15 the “Equality Act” with your urgent faxes to Congress now.

This bill will harm parents and children most of all. It will fundamentally damage the parent-child relationship in multiple ways.

First, the “Equality Act” will make abortion a federal right on demand through all nine months until birth. It will preempt every state law — including parental notification and informed consent. Parents will have no say, nor will religious hospitals, health care workers, or pharmacists. Insurance companies cannot refuse coverage. It will subject any person who refuses to comply to suit by the U.S. Department of Justice and by individuals.

Second, if a child becomes confused by the propaganda at schools or online, HR 15 will force compliance with a dangerous “affirmation” LGBTQ agenda.

The child can demand puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and even surgery to remove healthy body parts. Insurance and taxpayer funds will cover the expense. If the parents object, their child could be removed from the home. I am not exaggerating — this is already happening even without the “Equality Act.”

Third, if the child asks for help to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions, behaviors, or gender confusion, HR 15 will block the parents from helping their child. In fact, this bill denigrates such counsel for ALL AGES.

Fourth, this dangerous bill will require faith-based adoption agencies and foster care ministries to place children in LGBT & Q homes. Schools, hospitals, and organizations will lose funding. And remember, the “Q” encompasses nearly 550 paraphilias — which includes pedophilia!

This bill will create a template across the board for religious discrimination. WE MUST STOP THIS BILL! Send your fax to the Senate to stop the "Equality Act" from endangering our kids.

We must work diligently to defeat the dangerous “Equality Act” and prevent the destruction of children and adults.
