Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Mar 6, 2023
If you read our near-daily emails, you’ll notice that we often sign off as “Your missionaries to Washington, D.C.” But, in the case of Faith & Liberty, what does that mean?
People have different views of what a “missionary” is. Some may picture missionaries wearing pith helmets and hacking through the Amazon rainforests of Brazil with machetes. These courageous messengers of the gospel still evangelize and plant churches in remote places you and I may not wish to travel. Others sweat it out on the backs of camels in the Middle East or bundle up with layers of warm clothing on Alaska’s frozen tundra.
Missionaries also utilize all types of tools to get the gospel to those not yet following Christ — from digital devices to shortwave radio to single turbine airplanes.
As the Faith & Liberty team, we want God to use us to make an impact for Christ in our nation’s capital and, by extension, across America. While we pray and take action, we also remember what St. Francis of Assisi once wrote, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.”
This month, we get to see some other missionaries. We will be blessed to have several groups of missionaries drop in to our Ministry Center and visit congressional offices on Capitol Hill. We are grateful for their valuable input in our nation’s capital among those who make decisions that affect us all.
We pray that these missionaries, the many ministries present on Capitol Hill and Faith & Liberty will be “salt and light,” as Jesus calls us to be (Matt. 5:13-16).
Thank you for remembering us in prayer and in financial support as we engage in the vital ministry to which God has called us. We pray He would make us instruments of His peace in our divided nation.

THE MONDAY RECAP
The Monday Bible Club continued to meet, along with our weekly scheduled Bible studies and small groups. We also continue with our Bible studies for congressional members in the U.S. Capitol. We are also adding a new Bible study on Wednesday evenings!
We continue to work diligently to fight the attempted power grab by the World Health Organization. Their goal is to use COVID and other potential “health” crises to usurp our national sovereignty and subserviate us all to U.N. elitists.
We are preparing our hearts for Easter and have started to plan a Good Friday service. We will share more soon about our activities celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
COMING SOON
This week is Italian Week at our Ministry Center with delicious meals and enjoyable gatherings with new interns and staffers on Capitol Hill.
The interns also will gather at the Ministry Center on Thursday for a Career Interest Panel to help them make the best decisions for the exciting future God has for them.
All of our Bible studies are back this week. A new Bible study also starts on Wednesday night.
Several groups of missionaries will visit our Ministry Center starting next week. They will also be visiting congressional offices.
We are planning together with Seedline International the annual D.C. Bible Reading Marathon, which is scheduled for April 22-26. The Faith & Liberty team is working on scheduling a room to make it easier for members of Congress to participate. You are also invited to sign up now for your slot to read during the marathon.
To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian look for the Faith & Liberty emails throughout the week. We are in this fight together to defend and preserve those values and principles we all cherish.
PRAYER
Pray that the leaders of our nation will fear the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, and that this would impact the legislation they introduce and vote for on the Hill.
Pray that we follow the Holy Spirit’s lead as we connect with many on Capitol Hill, from interns to staffers to members of Congress.
Pray for those who are participating in our Bible studies, including Monday Club, the new Wednesday night study and the Congressional Women’s Bible Study. Pray for focused discussions that lead the interns, staffers and members of Congress to love the Lord with their heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30).
Pray that hunger and thirst for God would continue to grow among the young people in our nation’s capital and across the country. May spiritually strong leaders be built up to lead our nation!
Pray as we plan events to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord in meaningful ways.
Pray as we make plans together with Seedline International for the D.C. Bible Reading Marathon, April 22-26. Pray that we will be able to schedule a room to make it easier for members of Congress to participate.
