Hindsight is helpful in life and in ministry. With the perspective that comes as this year closes, we reflect on our successes (and give glory to God) and our setbacks (and still give glory to God), and we learn from them!
Do you know what is amazing about this process? It reminds us that our God redeems. His grace is active in our lives. We see God at work every day, and that’s true here on Capitol Hill too. Though the news may be discouraging at times, we do not despair because God is still on His throne and is sovereign over all.
We must remind ourselves of Romans 8:28: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
In 2022, God has used the prayerful efforts of the Faith & Liberty team to make a difference for many in the capital and across the country. It’s because of your ongoing prayers and financial support that we are able to sustain this effective ministry.
Many of you are considering your year-end giving, and we are grateful for those who desire to support Faith & Liberty in our vital mission. Any gift given from today to the end of the year will be DOUBLED by a year-end Challenge Grant. Will you make a generous year-end gift today?

Finally, please enjoy this look back at the last six months and see what God has done. Glory to our God!
Merry Christmas,
The Faith & Liberty team

RECAP of JULY - DECEMBER 2022
- Hosted by Faith & Liberty in conjunction with the Capitol Hill Forum and sponsored by the Chief of U.S. Capitol Police, the annual U.S. Capitol Police Officer Recognition Breakfast was held in the historic Mansfield Room on the Senate side of the Capitol. Three Washington, D.C., officers were recognized at the event for their meritorious service.

- The Faith & Liberty team hosted a Summer Social Time with congressional interns and staffers at the Ministry Center. The building was filled with over 50 staffers from across the U.S. who served in the fall in congressional offices. This allowed us time to pray, offer support and invite them to the small groups and Bible studies we host.
- Faith & Liberty’s Patty Bills, director of constituency affairs, participated in the Global Roof Top Prayer, a movement that invites churches and other ministries to join Jesus in His mission “to seek and save what was lost” (Luke 19:10). This event took place around the world with many Christians coming together to seek the Lord and His vision for 2023.
- The Faith & Liberty team members went on an annual Prayer Retreat during which they prayed for every one of the ministry’s supporter friends—by name. Just as prayer is our lifeline in our walk with God, our supporters are our lifelines for our ministry on Capitol Hill. Being able to pray for their needs was our privilege! Also, we prayed for our team, our nation’s leaders and our churches. We look to God to guide and strengthen us to accomplish all He wants us to do!
- Faith & Liberty hosted a 24-hour Prayer gathering at the Ministry Center. Congressional staffers signed up to pray every 30 minutes for individual requests, the church and national/global issues. They also prayed for other ministries on Capitol Hill. We believe that God used this time to move in the lives of those who work on Capitol Hill to make a difference through prayer.
- Social Time with the many Congressional staffers included many fun nights with 60-150 in attendance. We enjoyed good Christian fellowship and sharing. The events included *Theme nights such as ’70s Prom Night and *Scavenger Night looking for Christian markings through the Washington, D.C., area; the first-ever *Bonfire Cookout where many came to cook a hot dog and enjoy talking and singing together. We started a *Women’s hiking group at a local park and even a trip to the mountains for an even longer hike one Saturday morning. These events included wives of congressional members along with women staffers. *One of the most popular is the Mystery Dinners. When new Christians accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, it is so important that we engage them in healthy activities and fellowship, Bible Studies and the local church.

- Faith & Liberty co-hosted with She Leads America a Congressional and Key Leaders Breakfast in the Congressional Russell House Building. This is one of the first events held since a long shutdown due to COVID. We shared resources, ideas and strategic thinking. As we connected to collaborate, we were able to offer faith-based solutions for modern-day challenges. These women leaders in D.C. need our support, prayers and friendship as they have a hard road ahead of them fighting for the platforms set before them. These meal events offer the opportunity for a safe exchange of ideas with a community of faith-focused, independent thinkers who support and encourage each other, and network through deep relationships in Christ. We build trust with these women. There were over 100 in attendance.
- Peggy Nienaber, vice president of Faith & Liberty, was asked to participate on the National Faith Advisory Board Prayer Call with Senator Ted Cruz. Sen. Cruz has been an advocate for the values we hold dear and has been on the front lines defending them in the Senate.
- Faith & Liberty hosted men and women from the Changed Movement at the Ministry Center. Peggy Nienaber spoke to the group and helped arrange key appointments for them with congressional members. These members came to Christ out of the LGBTQ lifestyle, and we were praising the Lord for the positive impact they had while meeting with leaders and staff on Capitol Hill.

- We enjoyed participating in Let Us Worship with Sean Feucht at the U.S. Supreme Court.

- We also participated in a Prayer Vigil and Rally at Supreme Court for the 303 Creative vs. Elenis case.
- The Live Nativity at the U.S. Supreme Court this year was a bit more challenging than in the past. While we prepared to head to the front of the Supreme Court, our procession of live actors was met by 300 protesters. For the safety of all, the full story of Christ’ birth was told at the side of the Supreme Court and was well received. The Live Nativity proceeded from the side to the corner of the Supreme Court to display the presentation of the birth of Christ. The program is a public display of the greatness of the gospel, reminding everyone of the powerful message delivered that very first Christmas.

- We enjoyed singing carols at the U.S. Capitol.
- We have continued our Bible Studies weekly, and God is blessing!
