Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Dec 21, 2022
Because of YOU, lives are being changed on Capitol Hill. Let us explain...
Becoming a congressional staffer or intern on Capitol Hill can be daunting even for the best and brightest. Add the pressure of supporting a member of Congress, keeping up the pace of a congressional office, juggling deadlines and other time commitments, being careful not to make mistakes and handling the stress of significant overtime.
Many of these young people come to Washington with limited experience but high expectations. They may be seeking a career in the federal government, and being an intern or staffer is a great stepping stone to future positions in Congress or a presidential administration.
At the same time as these staffers and interns are being challenged professionally, they have the usual pressures of anyone else their age, making their way in this world, finding a romantic partner and establishing their own families.
At this critical time in life, many do not have a personal faith or an understanding of the gospel. That’s where Faith & Liberty—your missionaries to Washington, D.C.—come in. The team at Faith & Liberty has a heart for ministering to the next generation—the future of America. Because of our unique position on Capitol Hill, we have an opportunity to do just that as we are surrounded by the many staffers and interns working on the Hill.
We praise the Lord that this year we’ve seen more staffers and interns surrendering their lives to Christ than we ever have in the history of Faith & Liberty! Weekly Bible studies at our Ministry Center have generated so much interest that we’ve added more study times to the schedule.
Our Bible studies focus on topics and challenges that help staffers and interns engage with others in their sphere of influence. These studies offer a time set aside to pray with them, discuss how to apply the Scriptures today, counsel them in their daily walk and fortify their faith.
Through the partnership of a local church, many staffers and interns have connected with this body of believers, and we rejoice at the significant number of baptisms we’ve witnessed this year alone.
We also hosted interns from the Washington Studies program and from Cedarville University Global Outreach. The interns got to experience the hustle and bustle of our nation’s capital and see firsthand the need for believers to shine the light of Christ in what is often a dark culture.
Our ministry to staffers and interns on Capitol Hill is made possible through the faithful prayers and financial support of people like YOU. Because of you, we’re letting the light of Christ shine in a way that is influencing America’s current and future leaders.
Right now, any gift given between today and the end of the year will be DOUBLED by a year-end Challenge Grant. Will you make a generous year-end gift today?
