Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 19, 2022

We are so thankful as we look back on 2022. God has done a great work through Faith & Liberty, bringing souls into His kingdom through our Bible studies and encouraging the growth of those already in the faith. Plus, Faith & Liberty has participated in a whole host of other ministry events. Read below to see what your support helped accomplish in just the first half of 2022!

God is using our team here in Washington, D.C., and it is only possible because of faithful supporters like YOU. Our supporters form the backbone of Faith & Liberty because of your prayerful and financial support.

Right now, any gift given from today to the end of the year will be DOUBLED by a year-end Challenge Grant. Will you make a generous year-end gift today?

If we haven’t said it enough this year, know that we are ever and always grateful for you!

We pray you and your family have a blessed Christmas celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas,

The Faith & Liberty team

RECAP
of JANUARY - JUNE 2022

  • We held a Candlelight Prayer Vigil outside the Supreme Court for one of the most important cases this year, Shurtleff v. City of Boston. The High Court ruled unanimously in favor of Shurtleff, setting national precedent for First Amendment freedoms.

  • We held a prayer vigil during oral argument for another monumental Supreme Court case, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. The 6-3 SCOTUS ruling in favor of high school football coach Joe Kennedy, cited the Shurtleff decision. The Shurtleff decision combined with the Coach Kennedy ruling set a new standard that provides greater protections for Christian viewpoints.
  • The Faith & Liberty Team hosted the annual Remembering the Preborn Flowers & Prayer Vigil. This special memorial takes place each year on the national Sanctity of Human Life Day. Our team lays over 3,000 flowers on the sidewalk in front of the US Supreme Court in memory of the 3,000 babies lost to abortion every day in America. This event will look a little different in 2023 due to the historical overturning of Roe v. Wade! Stay tuned for upcoming details!

  • Peggy Nienaber participated in a VIP reception with Tim Tebow and other key leaders in the pro-life movement. Tim Tebow is a national champion, Heisman Trophy winner, former NFL player for the Denver Broncos as well as a former professional baseball player.

  • The Faith & Liberty team joined more than 25 key leaders for prayer on one of Capitol Hill’s highest rooftops for the Rooftop Encounter. The time of prayer focused on asking God to give us eyes to truly see the city, where to expand our ministry in D.C., and to guide us and give us a vision for the future.
  • The Faith & Liberty team was privileged to host both advocates of religious freedom and survivors of religious persecution at the Ministry Center. Faith & Liberty hosted Enes Kanter Freedom, the NBA legend who has taken a bold stand against the human rights abuses of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Our team was present to honor him with the “2022 Freedom Award” for his advocacy work for religious freedom.

  • The Faith & Liberty team met with other coalitions and planned prayer walks during the Senate confirmation hearings for now U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

  • Peggy attended a Pro-Life Congressional Breakfast honoring pro-life members of Congress. Over 30 members of Congress were present for this recognition event.
  • We held a “Meet Me at the Ten Commandments” time of prayer at the Ministry Center during the March for Life. COVID restrictions were still in place at this time, but our team stayed focused by inviting others to join us in prayer in front of the Ministry Center.

  • Along with Priests for Life, Faith & Liberty co-hosted the annual National Memorial for the Pre-Born and their Mothers and Fathers at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall. Numerous clergy and believers gathered for a time of prayer and praise. With over 1,500 Christian attendees, the gathering is the longest running interdenominational prayer service held every year on the day of the March for Life.
  • Interns from Cedarville University Global Outreach, Ohio visited Capitol Hill and spent time learning about the Ministry Center and our work. They had the opportunity to meet with Peggy Nienaber and other prominent leaders.
  • Washington Studies interns from Tennessee joined our team for a whole week in D.C. They got to walk the halls of the Capitol where they saw the hustle and bustle of members heading to vote on various bills. They got to meet members of Congress and staffers, the House and Senate chaplains, and had appointments in the Library of Congress.

  • Faith & Liberty hosted a Women of Influence Leadership Luncheon. The women’s luncheon included a time to pray for one another and support those who work in influential roles. Together we discussed how to reach out on Capitol Hill to those who do not understand our pro-life position and help educate those who are pro-abortion.

  • Faith & Liberty's Lead Missionary Rev. Gregory Cox provided daily devotionals for all our supporters as a countdown to the Resurrection.
  • Faith & Liberty hosted ALGOW International Women once a month at the Ministry Center.

  • The 33rd U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon took place April 30-May 4 at our Ministry Center on Capitol Hill.

  • The International Religious Freedom Summit drew people from around the world to Washington, D.C. Co-sponsoring this event brought Faith & Liberty together with those who fight for religious freedom and for the persecuted around the world. Peggy Nienaber and Jonathan Alexandre, senior counsel for governmental affairs for Liberty Counsel, hosted a breakout session featuring Hal Shurtleff, founder of Camp Constitution, the organization at the center of Shurtleff v. City of Boston.

  • Faith & Liberty’s team assisted worship leader Sean Feucht and a group of pro-life coalitions who held a Pray, Praise & Worship Rally at the US Supreme Court.

  • And Faith & Liberty hosted numerous other gatherings at the Ministry Center including Congressional and Administrative Staffers Monday Lunch Bunch, biblical discussion nights, family nights, fellowship pizza time, Women’s Prayer Breakfast, Men’s Waffle Breakfast, White House New Members Bible Studies, and more.
