What a whirlwind of activity these last few weeks have been! We haven’t sent our Monday Report the last couple of weeks, mainly because we wanted to stay focused on the radical legislation being debated in Congress, mainly the misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act,” which, after much back and forth, passed last week.
Although this is not the outcome we wanted, we refuse to be discouraged! God is not in heaven wringing His hands but is aware of what’s happening in Congress and in our culture. It’s important that we remind ourselves of that from time to time, and that we don’t stop taking a stand for all that is good, right and holy. In fact, we know you’ll be very interested to see what our chairman, Mat Staver, has planned as a next step to combat this new law and its potential devastating outcome. Learn more here, stay aware and be in prayer even as you celebrate the coming of the Christ child!
Now, as for that whirlwind, see below to learn what we’ve been up to on Capitol Hill.

THE MONDAY RECAP
- After many challenges, we were thankful our Live Nativity, held on Dec. 7, was well received, and major media picked up the story. If you haven’t watched our behind-the-scenes, day-of video, we invite you to view it on the Faith & Liberty Facebook page. You’d be surprised what it takes to get this procession to Capitol Hill!

- We participated in a Prayer Rally on Dec. 5 in coordination with other coalitions and ministries at the Supreme Court in light of the important cases the Court is handling this term, including the 303 Creative case with the Christian web designer.

- Peggy Nienaber attended a reception in late November where Kellyanne Conway, former senior counsel to President Trump, spoke about the importance of our values and the need for Christians in America to stand for what is right.

- Peggy Nienaber attended the lighting of the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree on Nov. 18. Each year a different forest is selected to harvest the tree for the West lawn of the Capitol. This year’s tree came from North Carolina.
- Faith & Liberty hosted an International Christmas Reception last Friday for those congressional interns who are interning from other countries for a short period. Sharing conversation and foods from their homeland helps those far away from family to enjoy fellowship at this special time of year.

COMING SOON
- A new season of small groups and Bible studies will launch in the New Year. We so look forward to seeing what God will do!
- Faith & Liberty’s staff members have begun to plan events to reach out to new staffers. Dates and events will be announced in January.
- Preparation is underway for the “Prayers & Remembrance—Victims of Roe” memorial to be held at the U.S. Supreme Court on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

PRAYER CONCERNS
Pray that the Live Nativity we held last week would continue to have an impact on those who saw it live and those who see it in the media. Jesus humbled Himself to become one of us and deserves all the glory! Pray that our Bible studies and discipleship activities will continue to bear spiritual fruit. We are thankful that so many interns and staffers have chosen to follow Christ! Pray for the Faith & Liberty staff members, for good health, for strength to serve and for effectiveness as we minister. Pray, too, that we would stand strong against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. Our chairman, in his role at Liberty Counsel, filed an amicus brief on behalf of a Christian web designer in the 303 Creative case at the Supreme Court. Pray that God would be honored in how this case is decided.
Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in faithful prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!
Make a difference and partner with us.
