Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

In a last-minute, unannounced move the U.S. House of Representatives abruptly took a recess yesterday. This delayed their plan to vote on the (Dis)Respect for Marriage Act! This vote now has been postponed to TODAY with debate starting at 9:00 AM and a floor vote expected later this afternoon.
We must continue to hold our legislators’ feet to the fire. If HR 8404 passes, EVERY “state, territory and possession” will be forced to honor same-sex and child-bride marriage laws. This effectively creates a massive loophole, making child sexual abuse legal nationwide.
Do not let this craziness be forced onto all of America. Tell the U.S. House to vote NO on HR 8404! — Your Faith & Liberty team
Some representatives are still waffling. Already this week, we have changed more votes to being against this bill.
I want to be clear, from my experience as a constitutional attorney arguing repeatedly before the U.S. Supreme Court—and winning—the so-called “religious amendment” does absolutely NOTHING to protect people of faith!
The new version’s “protections” are designed solely to persuade people on the fence to vote for this radical bill. Even if conscience and religious objectors opted out, this amendment does nothing to protect child brides. It doesn’t stop pedophiles from abusing kids. The door would still be open for incest. And same-sex “marriage” would be forced on the states and territories.
What good is it if a very small number of religious organizations are free to watch the rest of the nation slip into the pits of Hell? This bill is a disaster and should be stopped.
While temporarily delayed, this vote is still coming. This is still a real threat. Send your urgent faxes to the House today to oppose HR 8404.
