Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Oct 13, 2022
As your missionaries to our nation’s public policy makers, we are deeply concerned about the attack against parents and parental authority we are seeing across the nation. And now, California just passed a law that prevents prosecuting anyone who helps minors get so-called gender “transition” treatments or mutilation surgeries.
This law authorizes courts to take temporary jurisdiction when “a child has been unable to obtain gender-affirming health care.”
Even before this new law passed, Abby’s daughter tragically committed suicide. Unknown to Abby, the public school pushed her daughter into thinking she was a boy. When Abby found out what the school had been doing to her daughter, she objected. Then the court got involved—and took the side of the LGBTQ agenda—disregarding Abby's parental rights.
Children can be sterilized and their bodies mutilated, causing irreversible damage and setting them up for a lifetime of mental and physical trauma. But this new law prevents parents from intervening! And it's not limited to California. These battles over parental rights are exploding everywhere.
We’ll share what happened below through the eyes of her mother ...
Parental rights and children are under attack. There are a number of proposed state bills, and even a proposed federal constitutional amendment, on this critical topic. Our federal and state leaders need to hear from you to protect children and strengthen parental rights. — Your Faith & Liberty team
Abby Martinez’s daughter, Yaeli, was a “girlie girl,” but then she started showing signs of depression in middle school. Abby kept the school informed about bullying and how people would call her daughter “ugly.” But the school then pushed her daughter toward transgender ideas.
The Los Angeles school, a foster care worker and an LGBTQ group hid their agenda from Abby and filled the young girl with the LGBTQ lies that gender is fluid. Yaeli decided in high school that she wanted to be a “boy.”
This was part of what the Los Angeles child protective services admitted it “aggressively pursued [in] the implementation of inclusive, gender-affirming laws, policies, and supportive services for LGBTQ+ youth.”
Abby said school personnel told Yaeli to hide her thoughts about transgenderism from her mom. They encouraged Yaeli to join an LGBTQ organization. This group convinced her that “transitioning” was the only way to be happy, to “do it right now, nothing is going to make you happy. You're unhappy with your body, you hate your body so you go for it.”
As a part of this process, Yaeli accused her mom of slapping her. But Abby denies this ever happened and said it was part of the coaching from the LGBTQ groups on how to manipulate the courts to get her out of her home.
The state removed Yaeli from her home and even told Abby not to talk about God with her own daughter when they were together for visitation.
Abby said that prohibition against spiritual conversations was “[w]hat hurt me the most.” She tried every month to get the court to return her daughter to her. But that would never happen.
Stuck in foster care, with state-funded treatments and with government workers blocking her from hearing about God, Yaeli was miserable to the point of when she was 19 years old, she succumbed to the depression and kneeled in front of an oncoming train.
“They killed my daughter,” the tearful mother told the Washington Examiner. "They had to pick pieces of her off of the track.”
The pain her daughter’s suicide caused Abby is immense. Now Abby is speaking out so other parents can avoid the same pain.
About 80% of children who struggle with gender confusion will outgrow it by adulthood. Everything that this young girl went through would most likely have just disappeared with time.
Children are young and impressionable, and they are being used as pawns. Since COVID, more parents are speaking up about the hostile LGBTQ agenda in the public schools.
We need to strike while the iron is hot to urge our leaders to protect children and parental rights. Tell Congress and our governors to urgently protect children and parent’s rights.
Oregon passed a law enabling 15-year-old children to get puberty blockers, hormones drugs and surgeries without parental consent or even notification! These drugs significantly increase the risk of heart attacks, strokes, infertility, weakening of the bones … and who knows what all else with high doses of these drugs untested for the long term?
In addition, the District of Columbia tried to give children 11 years old and up the power to decide to take a COVID shot. And the District wanted to hide this medical information from parents. A judge just temporarily blocked the District.
Meanwhile, schools are pushing BLM and critical race theory to impressionable children.
It is time to protect children and strengthen parental rights. The government is not our parent!
In an election year, some members of state legislatures and members of Congress are more willing to listen to the voice of the people. Your voice is more powerful now ahead of the 2022 midterms. Your faxes put elected officials on notice that we care about children and demand immediate action.
The attack on our children is a serious matter. We must speak up.
We can only have this impact because of your prayers and support. Thanks to our Challenge Grant, your monthly recurring donation or one-time gift to our organization today can be DOUBLED in impact.
