Help and Hope to Hurricane Victims in Jesus' Name
As you well know, Category 4 Hurricane Ian struck Southwest Florida last week—packing 155 mph winds and creating a catastrophic storm surge.
The devastating storm wreaked havoc in numerous communities, leaving destruction in its wake and flooding homes, businesses, neighborhoods and more.
Please stand with LRI to offer humanitarian, spiritual and emotional support to the victims of this historic disaster today! Our twin goals are to provide (1) humanitarian relief along with (2) emotional and spiritual support. The devastation for so many people is heartbreaking. I grew up in this region and know this area very well. I have family who live in the path of Ian’s destruction.
One of our partners was on site from the beginning of relief efforts, providing hot meals to evacuees that brought tears of gratitude and even amazement. This partner will be able to provide tens of thousands of hot, nourishing meals daily for first responders and victims alike, all in the spirit of Christ’s love.
Your gift will provide meals, clean water, emergency aid, recovery assistance, including help with debris removal and damage mitigation, and emotional and spiritual support. We want to minister to both the body and the soul. Unless you have lived through the terror of howling winds and rushing water, it is hard to describe the emotional trauma.
My niece was in Port Charlotte and was forced to immediately evacuate the home with her daughter and granddaughter when the water of a river some distance away came rushing toward them. By the time they left home, the water had already reached waist deep. In the frenzy to leave, their cat, Harley, panicked, and they had to leave without him. Harley belonged to my sister who passed away two years ago. While he is an animal, my niece, the daughter of my sister, was emotionally attached to the cat because she adopted him after the cat mourned the loss of my sister for months.
Please join us in providing physical, emotional and spiritual relief and support to these precious people in Florida.
Your compassionate action in this crisis will impact families for a lifetime. So many have been displaced. Many have no “home” to come back to when they are able to return.
Please lift up the needs of this monstrous hurricane’s victims to the Lord over the coming days … and respond as generously and as often as He leads you.
Thank you for being Christ’s hands and feet to those devastated by historic Hurricane Ian.
