Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Aug 22, 2022
Have you ever doubted God’s power and presence in your life or ministry? That’s why God commanded Israel to consciously remember all He had done for them, even when they trudged through the dryness of the desert for 40 years anticipating entering the land God had promised them.
In Joshua 4, God commanded the Israelites to reflect on His faithfulness with stones of remembrance when God miraculously dried up the Jordan River so the people could safely cross. The 12 stones they took from the middle of the Jordan became a memorial they could use to teach future generations what God had done.
In the present day, we are more than halfway through 2022, but, like the Israelites of old, we want to consciously remember what our God has done with your help and through our ministry on Capitol Hill this year.
With the Supreme Court victory that overturned previous pro-abortion decisions, we saw a ramping up of demonic activity in the protests around the Court. We want to thank the Lord that these public protests have dissipated and for His protection. We started off the year honoring the lives of children who were aborted with our Remembering the Preborn Flowers and Prayer Vigil.
We also honored God’s Word through the U.S. Bible Reading Marathon. This reminds me of the Israelites and how they stood for a significant time while God’s law was recited in their hearing—without missing a word (Josh. 8:30-35).
We also took part in Roof Top Prayer over our nation’s capital calling out for repentance and revival for America and its leaders.
There are many other ways I could recite and ways I could remember God’s goodness to Faith & Liberty, but if you’re a regular reader of our Monday Report, you know what God has done through this strategic ministry. Our God is good, and we will exalt His name forever! Thank you for standing with us!
Shining His light on Capitol Hill,
The Faith & Liberty team

We continue our preparations for the U.S. Capitol Police Officer Recognition Breakfast honoring those officers who keep us safe on Capitol Hill. We have been a part of this event for over 25 years. Please pray for this important event coming up next month.
Faith & Liberty will be co-sponsoring the “Women on the Hill Prayer Breakfast.” This will be a special time of prayer, encouragement and fellowship with women members of the U.S. House and Senate.
Proponents of the Changed movement will visit Capitol Hill this fall. God is doing a great work among those who have forsaken their former LGBTQ lifestyle! We are hosting this group at our Ministry Center, and Jonathan Alexandre and Peggy Nienaber will both be speaking to them.
Fellowship Nights with various themes are in the works for this Fall, from mystery dinners at a local church to women’s dinners and hiking!
The Women’s and Men’s Prayer Breakfasts will resume in September, bringing staffers and others who work on Capitol Hill together for prayer and fellowship.

Legislation Alert: The U.S. House has passed a bill that attacks marriage (HR 8404), and the U.S. Senate is rushing to have a full vote soon. This bill will not only push same-sex marriage by law into every state, but it also overrides states’ rights and brings the full weight of the federal attorney general’s office to file suits. As it is written, if just one state allowed incestuous marriage, this bill would force all 49 states to recognize and respect that “marriage.”
Urge the Senate to block HR 8404 by sending a fax and adding your name to our petition. Thanks!
PRAYER CONCERNS
Making a difference: Pray that God would guide as we continue to make connections with key leaders on Capitol Hill. As these leaders make decisions that impact the life of our nation, we want to minister to them and stand with them as they seek the good of every American.
Discipling well: Pray for the congressional staffers and others we minister to in Bible studies at our Ministry Center would be established in their faith. We are thankful so many of them are committed to walking out their faith in their personal and professional lives.
Standing for life: Pray that the members of Congress who are seeking to codify abortion would fail in this effort and that the work of those who are attempting to close pregnancy resource centers would be defeated. Pray for the protection of life in states across America and a full end to abortion. Pray also for continued protection for the Supreme Court Justices and their families.
Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in faithful prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!
