Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Jun 13, 2022

It’s not every day you encounter evil as blatant as what we are seeing now outside of the United States Supreme Court. The boldness of the protesters as they catch a whiff of the death of their way of life has ramped up to a new extreme.

Witches were present in front of the Court. They were clearly filled with the wrong spirit. Protesters were competing with the worship band who were with us. One woman with loudspeakers and a bull horn got very close to our microphone, and it became a battle of the bands for 45 minutes. We were surrounded, so we left the area and instead walked around the Court praying. The day before a man had chained himself around his neck to the fence. An ambulance and fire truck responded out of an abundance of caution.

Even if the Court overturns Roe v. Wade this month in the highly anticipated Dobbs decision, the legal practice of abortion will continue in many states. Still, a pro-life decision will be quite the blow to abortion advocates across America.

Today, I learned of a pro-life nonprofit who asked that God would soften the hard heart of a woman who came to their clinic recently requesting an abortion—her 26th! This nonprofit ministry does ultrasounds, not abortions, but God had led this mother to their clinic to save her baby from the instruments of death and, ultimately, from the one out to “steal and kill and destroy” both baby and mother (John 10:10). Whatever her reason, it appears that this woman had been using abortion as contraception. What if she (and others like her) really understood what she was doing when she sought to “end the pregnancy”?

America needs the Supreme Court Justices to do the right thing and stand for the lives of babies not yet born. Thank you for supporting us in this fight!

For America's Future,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

MONDAY RECAP
  • We are engaging in ongoing regular Prayer Vigils at the Supreme Court due to the upcoming rulings, including the critical Dobbs abortion case.

  • With the International Religious Freedom Summit just a few weeks away, Peggy participated in an IRF Summit Committee meeting.
  • We participated in a Pro-Life Coalition meeting.
  • We scheduled prayer meetings with congressional members and staffers.

COMING SOON

  • Faith & Liberty will co-host the She Leads America Women's Prayer Luncheon for congressional women tomorrow, June 14. Because of the protest activity at the Supreme Court and in front of the Ministry Center, we have decided to move this event supporting “Women on the Hill” to Virginia.
  • Peggy Nienaber will be attending a Prayer Altar event this Thursday to pray with other Pro-Life Coalition ministries. This will be a time of prayer and reflection for our country.
  • The International Religious Freedom Summit will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C., at the end of June. Religious persecution around the world should compel us to recognize the threats and engage to protect our religious freedom here at home. Liberty Counsel is planning an hour-long breakout session, “Religious Freedom at your Own Doorstep,” on Thursday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 12. The first 50 attendees will receive a free gift bag. To attend the IRF Summit, click here and sign up.
  • Prayer Retreat: Our Faith & Liberty team takes an annual private prayer retreat, which will be August 2nd-4th this year. During this time, we look to the Lord to guide and strengthen us for the strategic work to which He has called us and we intentionally intercede for every one of our supporters—by name. Please submit your prayer requests by calling Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776 or by emailing us at [email protected].

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week. We are in this fight together for the soul of our nation.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Abortion: The Supreme Court continues to issue opinions on designated days. The Court released some opinions today but has not yet released the final decision on the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. Pray for the protection of the Justices and that the official opinion will come down on the side of life, finally overturning Roe v. Wade.

Protection: Thank the Lord, with us, for His protection ahead of the release of the Dobbs decision. The area in front of the Supreme Court has fencing three layers deep, and traffic is limited. We know our ministry is a target as we stand for life and the gospel, so we assure you, we are taking security seriously and are not taking unnecessary risks. We thank you for praying for the safety of our staff and protection of our property.

Religious Freedom: Pray for our interaction with key leaders at this month's International Religious Freedom Summit, that the event will truly help the persecuted and glorify God. Pray for the preparation of the speakers—Senior Counsel for Governmental Affairs Jonathan Alexandre, Liberty Counsel; Camp Constitution co-founder Hal Shurtleff; and Faith & Liberty staff—for Liberty Counsel’s breakout session.

Planning: Pray for wisdom as we plan for the fiscal year. Our staff will meet in mid-June.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
