Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

May 23, 2022

Now is certainly the time to band together as believers in the battle for life. Do you feel the intensity as the protests against the Supreme Court, the Justices and pro-life Christians escalate? We are surely on the front lines at this time in our nation, and here in Washington, D.C., your Faith & Liberty team is privileged to have a front-row seat to history.

But we know this battle is not just in our nation’s capital. It rages across the country, from New York and Atlanta to Chicago and Los Angeles. Protest organizers are predicting a “summer of rage,” and you don’t have to look far to find that rage on display. After the release of the leaked Dobbs opinion, 20,000 people marched along the National Mall past the Capitol to the Supreme Court to retain the right to kill the unborn. How God’s heart must grieve!

Our chairman, Mat Staver, is also founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel and has used his legal skills in a number of pro-life cases. He is persuaded that Roe v. Wade will be overturned in his lifetime. If the Lord tarries and the Justices are not swayed, it looks like we may be on the precipice of that decision before the current Supreme Court session ends. May it be so! Amen.

For America's Future,

Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

MONDAY RECAP

  • We participated in the weekly Prayer Vigils at the Supreme Court regarding the Dobbs v. Jackson case.
  • Peggy Nienaber along with other Capitol Hill Ministries assisted with the logistics for the Rally for Life at the Supreme Court, and we joined in prayer and worship with Sean Feucht despite the loud counterprotests. Praise and worship songs along with prayers from several pastors, members of Congress and our staff could be heard on Capitol Hill.

  • We continue to host Bible studies and gatherings at the Ministry Center and are seeing lives changed, PTL!
  • We began daily prayer walks at noon to pray for the U.S. Supreme Court Justices.
COMING SOON

  • We continue to participate in weekly Prayer Vigil events as we anticipate the outcome of the Dobbs case and, we pray, the end of Roe v. Wade.
  • Faith & Liberty will host the She Leads America Women's Prayer Luncheon for congressional women on June 14. We believe the Lord wants the Faith & Liberty team to plan and host a quarterly prayer time to support these “Women on the Hill.”
  • The International Religious Freedom Summit will be held at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C., at the end of June. Liberty Counsel is planning an hour-long breakout session for the summit titled “Religious Freedom at your Own Doorstep.” It will be held Thursday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 12. Religious persecution around the world should compel us to recognize the threats and engage to protect our religious freedom here at home. The first 50 attendees will receive a free gift bag. To attend the IRF Summit, click here and sign up.
  • Prayer Retreat: Every year our Faith & Liberty team takes a private prayer retreat during which we intercede for every one of our supporters—by name. As we seek the Lord—for our ministry, our team, our nation’s leaders and our supporters—we look to Him to guide and strengthen us for the work, which seems to be growing! To submit your prayer requests—and we do want to lift them up—call Patty Bills at the Faith & Liberty office at 202-737-1776 or email us at [email protected].

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week. We are in this fight together for the soul of our nation.

This is the second Sunday in a row that a double rainbow has appeared over the U.S. Supreme Court.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Let us not grow weary in praying for the outcome of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. Pray for an official opinion to be released in favor of life. Pray that the Justices who took a pro-life stance will not succumb to the pressure of protesters who want them to reverse their stand for the preborn.

In light of the pro-abortion protests, pray for the safety of the Faith & Liberty staff, for a hedge of protection around the Ministry Center and for the pro-lifers across the country standing among the protesters, who can sometimes be violent. We also thank God for His covering in this volatile time.

Pray for any details that need to be finalized for June's International Religious Freedom Summit. We want this to be an event that helps the persecuted and glorifies God.

Pray for wisdom for our planning committee meetings for the fiscal year.

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
