Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Mar 28, 2022
Much of my time is spent around staffers who are already working on Capitol Hill. We see them in our ongoing Bible studies, and God is moving in their hearts! I am also blessed to work with key leaders, many whose names you would recognize, but a special part of our ministry at Faith & Liberty relates to training and mentoring young people who may someday succeed those staffers or congressional leaders.
This week was one such week as I interacted with graduating high school students chosen to participate in the Washington Studies Internship Program. Interns in this long-running program have been coming to Capitol Hill each year for over 15 years. Faith & Liberty’s team now has the opportunity to mentor this year's crop of young men and women who are visiting the Hill for the first time.
Shadowing the Faith & Liberty team in day-to-day operations, responsibilities, meetings and prayer visits, these students will learn how to be witness in this strategic location in the heart of our nation. We are so pleased that God is using us to play a part in their development and expect that some of them will have a bright future letting their light shine for Christ on Capitol Hill!
Mentoring the next generation in ministry,
Peggy Nienaber, Vice President

MONDAY RECAP
Along with our Prayer Vigil from Sunday evening before the Supreme Court nominee’s hearing, we participated in prayer each morning prior to the hearing in the Senate offices.
Peggy Nienaber received a special pass to sit each day in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. She offered silent prayer and afterward gave Faith & Liberty followers an update on the day's happenings at the hearing. Along with guests, Faith & Liberty staff hosted daily live broadcasts bringing updates from Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s hearing.
Although much of the week was taken up with the nominee’s hearing, Peggy also participated in the committee meeting as we anticipate June’s International Religious Freedom Summit.
Faith & Liberty and She Leads America are co-hosting a ladies luncheon at the Ministry Center with Alveda King and Olympic gold and silver medalist Dr. Madeline Manning Mims for key women leaders and members of Congress. This luncheon will include a diverse group of accomplished Christian women from across the nation and will be an opportunity to pray and connect with those who serve on Capitol Hill.
Rev. Greg Cox will head to New York to meet with two supporting churches, Mount Zion Church and Freedom Church, to update them on Faith & Liberty’s current programs.
Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.
We must all stay tuned in to what is happening in our nation’s capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week. We are in this fight together for the soul of our nation.
PRAYER CONCERNS
The next step in Judge Jackson’s bid to occupy the 116th seat on the Supreme Court will likely be the week of April 4 when the full Senate considers her nomination. Pray for God’s will to be done regarding Judge Jackson’s nomination.
Pray for Peggy and other Steering Committee members who are planning for the International Religious Freedom Summit 2022, which will be held June 28-30. Pray for guidance for the committee members planning this significant event that impacts people of faith around the world.
Let us continue to intercede for victory in our Supreme Court free speech case on behalf of Hal Shurtleff and Camp Constitution concerning the Christian flag. Our chairman, Mat Staver, argued the case in January against the City of Boston. We must persevere in prayer until the Court announces its ruling.
Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!
Make a difference and partner with us.
