The highest court of the land will be the focus this week on Capitol Hill.

While Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is making the news for his hospital stay, Joe Biden’s nominee to become the next Justice, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, takes center stage and faces grilling in a four-day confirmation hearing. If confirmed, Jackson, who is 51, could serve the Court for decades.

I am privileged to be present for the hearing and will be praying, along with you, during the nominee’s examination. Our Prayer Team also will be out on Capitol Hill praying each day for God’s will to be done regarding this confirmation. MONDAY RECAP

• Interns from Houston’s First Baptist Church visited Capitol Hill and our team this past week. They participated in prayer walks, learned about our Faith & Liberty ministry and got creative with crafts by making donkeys for local kids for Palm Sunday.

• Peggy Nienaber had lunch with former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and several ministry coalitions on Capitol Hill to support and pray for each other. Zack Randles, lead pastor of Waterfront Church DC, spoke about how to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who work on Capitol Hill.

• We held a Candlelight & Prayer Vigil on Sunday in advance of the Supreme Court confirmation hearings to remember before the Lord the senators, Capitol Hill staffers who actively assist in the process and the nominee.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Pray that anything of concern regarding the Supreme Court nominee will come to light and ask God for wisdom for the senators as they consider Judge Jackson to become the next Justice.

Pray for Peggy and other Steering Committee members who are planning for the International Religious Freedom Summit 2022, which will be held June 28-30. Pray for guidance for the committee members planning this significant event.

Let us continue to intercede for a win in our Supreme Court free speech case on behalf of Hal Shurtleff and Camp Constitution concerning the Christian flag. Our chairman, Mat Staver, argued the case in January against the City of Boston. We must persevere in prayer until the Court announces its ruling.
