Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 20, 2021

We are so thankful as we look back on 2021. God has done a great work through Faith & Liberty, bringing souls into His kingdom through our Bible studies and encouraging the growth of those already in the faith. Our Ministry Center just across from the Supreme Court is a focal point for Capitol Hill staffers who need spiritual refreshment and encouraging fellowship away from their daily grind.

With your support behind us, God is using our team here in the nation’s capital. You make it all possible for us to continue hosting times for prayer and the pro-life events we’ll be focused on as we start the new year.

If we haven’t said it enough this year, know that we are ever and always grateful for you!

Blessings,

The Faith & Liberty Team

We need YOUR help to keep this mission going! Faith & Liberty is 100% donor driven, and we cannot minister to our nation's capitol without YOU, the steadfast Faith & Liberty supporter. Please. make your best possible donation today. Select here or the button below.

THE MONDAY RECAP & MORE
  • Our Bible Studies have come to a close, finishing up each of the themes and preparing for new ones in 2022. We enjoyed a time of prayer—along with some delicious Christmas cookies and hot chocolate—with each congressional staff member before they head home for the holidays. We will also make it a point to connect with those who will be in the office during the holiday recess break.

  • We met with various ministries that minister on Capitol Hill for a Christmas Social to talk about advent, pray and fellowship with each other and enjoy a Christmas lunch together. It was a nice break from our daily responsibilities, though we did discuss plans and events for 2022. The chief of staff from the chaplain of the U.S. House shared with us the Congressional Advent Reflections and gave each of us a gift of testimonies from members of Congress to reflect on during this season

  • Faith & Liberty hosted law students, interns and staff at our Ministry Center for a Christmas Social, a time to reflect on daily life and to consider what the future may hold in 2022. Peggy Nienaber shared with the group how our faith can help us through the toughest days as well as what our Ministry Center offers to those who work on Capitol Hill. Jonathan Alexandre presented the recent work of Liberty Counsel and what is expected in 2022.

COMING SOON

  • Our team is planning many outreach events that we look forward to in 2022, and January is most significant. On Monday evening, January 17, we will host a Prayer Gathering focused on the Shurtleff v. City of Boston case before the U.S. Supreme Court the following day.

  • We will host the National Memorial for the Preborn and their Mothers & Fathers at 8:30 a.m., Friday, January 21, right before the March for Life that same day. Pastors and leaders will join us for this annual, national and interdenominational prayer service honoring the preborn and their parents. This service will take place at DAR Constitution Hall, the capital’s largest concert hall. This year we will assist in presenting a National Pro-life Recognition Award to the legislators and people who helped pass historic pro-life legislation in Texas and Mississippi.

  • On Saturday, January 22, at 11 a.m., please join us as we lay 3,000 flowers in front of the Supreme Court. A single flower is such a small way to remember a life snuffed out by abortion, but we remind the Supreme Court of its infamous ruling in Roe v. Wade by laying thousands of flowers at the steps to the High Court. Why 3,000? That number signifies the average number of children killed every day in America by abortion.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what's happening in our nation's capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Pray for our chairman, Mat Staver, as he prepares to present oral argument at the Supreme Court on January 18 in the free speech case concerning the Christian flag.

Please remember the many opportunities we have related to pro-life issues and remembering lives lost after Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, opening the way for legal abortion.

Pray for our 2022 Bible studies, that the Holy Spirit would draw staffers to come to hear and learn from God’s Word and each other. Pray that much spiritual fruit would come from these studies!

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
