Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 13, 2021

The Christmas season can be challenging for those in high places in our nation’s capital. As the saying goes, “It’s lonely at the top,” and Washington, D.C., can be lonely for those in leadership, especially during the holidays. This time of year in particular affords Faith & Liberty an opportunity to minister and an opening for the gospel celebrating the birth of our Savior.

Keeping that in mind, it’s significant when we have events where we can share the love of Christ with those on Capitol Hill. Peggy Nienaber had one of those opportunities this past week when she spoke at the Congressional Christmas Coffee for Members and Spouses. The reception is an opportunity for encouragement and friendship during the holidays, which can be defeating and lonely for some. Our team was able to pray with the newest members of Congress and their spouses who are adjusting to the demands of life in Washington. Peggy shared about the ministry and what we offer to the members and their staff.

We are thankful that our Lord is reaching out to others through the Faith & Liberty team and grateful for your prayer and financial support that enables us to do so!

Blessings in Christ,

The Faith & Liberty Team

We need YOUR help to keep this mission going! Faith & Liberty is 100% donor driven, and we cannot minister in our nation's capital without YOU. Right now, a generous 500,000-dollar Matching Gift campaign offered by a Christian organization will DOUBLE your gift. But we only have until December 31 to reach the goal. Please make your best possible donation today. Select here or the button below.

THE MONDAY RECAP & MORE
  • Lead Missionary Rev. Gregory Cox spoke at the Hutchinson County Republican Women’s Club in Borger, Texas. Rev. Cox shared the recent work of Faith & Liberty, including our prayer vigils outside the Supreme Court during the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, our impactful Live Nativity 2021 and our ongoing efforts to fight Biden’s unconstitutional COVID shot mandates.
  • Our Faith & Liberty Bible studies are coming to a close as the year ends, and our team is setting up new topics for the 2022 studies. Pray for the staffers who will be on Capitol Hill during the holiday season. Some are unable to go home, so our team will be in Washington to minister to members and staff who are here during the recess.
Monday Bible Study

COMING SOON

  • This Tuesday evening, Faith & Liberty will be hosting the Christian Legal Aid Christmas Social for Christian attorneys, interns and staff. It will be a time of fellowship and celebration of all that God has done in 2021. Peggy Nienaber and Jonathan Alexandre will be sharing about our Faith & Liberty ministry and how our faith has helped us on Capitol Hill.
  • Our team is making plans for the events surrounding the Shurtleff and Camp Constitution v. City of Boston case regarding censorship of the Christian viewpoint. Our chairman, Mat Staver, will argue the case, which is before the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. We are planning to have intercessory prayer, a prayer gathering and a rally in support.
  • Faith & Liberty, the National Pro-Life Center and numerous clergy and believers from various denominations will come together Friday, January 21, 2022, in Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., for annual National Memorial for the Pre-born and their Mothers and Fathers. This is the longest-running interdenominational prayer service, which is held each year on the day of the annual March for Life.
  • The Faith & Liberty team will host the annual Remembering the Preborn Flowers & Prayer Vigil in front of the Supreme Court. This special memorial event takes place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, the National Sanctity of Human Life Day, and will feature the laying of 3,000 flowers in memory of babies lost to abortion every day in America.

Our prophetic missionary work in Washington, D.C., continues during this critical time in history. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST.

We must all stay tuned in to what's happening in our nation's capital. To stay informed on issues in Washington and play your part as a citizen and a Christian, look for Faith & Liberty's ACTION emails throughout the week.

PRAYER CONCERNS

Pray for our chairman, Mat Staver, as he prepares to present oral argument at the Supreme Court on January 18 in the free speech case concerning the Christian flag.

Please remember the many opportunities we have related to saving future generations of Americans. We celebrate the sanctity of God-given human life through a number of events in January, including the solemn memorial in front of the Supreme Court, where Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, opening the way for legal abortion.

Pray for the planning process for the 2022 Bible studies as we select subjects that will be critical in drawing staffers to come and engage with God’s Word. We have seen a good number of people come to the Lord through our Bible studies this year. We are rejoicing with the angels!

Our efforts to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of our public policy makers are only possible because wonderful friends like you stand with us both in prayer and in your generous financial support! Thank you!

Make a difference and partner with us.
